UBF: Showdown Singapura 2024 | Post-Event Photos

UBF: Showdown Singapura was a big success in the heartlands of Tampines. For a full weekend the public was invited to watch wonderful hobby and feast their eyes on some of the best Betta in the world. This competition could not be possible without our organizing team, volunteers, Judges and Sponsors. We thank everyone for coming together to build this hobby to a higher level in Singapore. Also a big Thank You goes out to Mr. Masagos Zulkifli, Second Minister for Health of Singapore for coming to learn more about our initiative.

We our proud to announce our 6 Judges for the show. We are looking forward to delivering the best, most balanced and experienced opinions to let the best fish be awarded on the day. Our panel brings a wealth of knowledge, undictated by an ever changing market, only based on factual elements. The public is welcome to watch the Judging process and speak with any of our Judges onsite - post Judging. We look forward to serving the hobbyist first. Alongside our main competition we are holding an Online Competition from 21-23rd June. Simply post your fish taken in it’s competition tank after Bench-In with your Bench-In number displayed. And as best displayed and flared, take a photo on site before it is submitted. Post this photo on our online Competition Thread on our page which will be released Saturday morning (22nd June).The winner whose fish posted receives the most likes will receive a Trophy and a token Cash award.

UBF POWER PLAYER 'FAIR PLAY' AWARD | Showdown Singapura 2024

As a show Betta competitor we all know how difficult it is to win the Top Tier Grand Champion Prize but on the other hand it is also a difficult feat to be consistently competitive with high level fish across several classes. In order to award this aspect of competition we have created the UBF POWER PLAYER 'Fair Play' Award. A point system prize that an overall competitor can aim to win at the Showdown Singapura 2024. Every Ribbon/Champion of Class/Division adds to the overall score. We have prepared a Gold Plated Trophy + $200 in Cash for the winner this show.

Class Colour Guide | A14: Candy Open

Candy Open is a UBF Open Class for all types of Candy. What is a Candy? There is a single prerequisite that makes Candy different from other types of Marbles: The base colour must have a minimum of 2 of these colours (Red/Orange/Yellow) in a combination. This Open class will not judge primarily on colour spread or marbling quality but on the colour quality, depth, intensity and overall rich colour appearance. For Candy that focus on colour separation/marbling, they are to compete in Marble Open.
