So I haven't been very active on our page, we've been working hard getting this past I'd Eat That! Kitchen session up and running during this pandemic. I felt it was more important to serve our young people and post when I had something to say.
We have almost wrapped up our latest cohort and we are excited that we were able to pull this off!
Here are some photos of the wonderful young interns and what we have been up to.
We are always looking for our young interns to add to our empanada menu, and they did not disappoint! Some creations were S'mores, stuffed baked potato, and a chicken curry. We'll post the winner soon.
Thanks for supporting us and we hope our next session will be even better. Stay tuned for our Holiday Empanadas!

We made it! The I'd Eat That! Kitchen was able to complete its session in spite of Covid 19! It took some doing, but assignments were completed in the online environment and our young people were committed and got er done! On behalf of the Life Skills Academy and the I'd Eat That! Kitchen, we would like to commend our young people for their fortitude and commitment to the internship. This shows us how invested they are in their futures. Congratulations to the Spring Session of The I'd Eat That! Kitchen! Thanks to everyone out there who has supported us. We ask that you stay tuned while we figure out next steps.🥳🥳

Mock it til you rock it, in conjunction with Governor Lujan's Initiative,and support from New Mexico Workforce Solutions and the New Mexico Workforce Connection will be happening on March 18th 2020 from 1:30 -5pm
MOCK INTERVIEWS will be happening on the spot for young people to practice interview skills, receive positive feedback, and build confidence for the next real-world interview! For extra preparation, attend any of the job readiness classes held at the Life Skills Academy in March leading up to the event. For more information, contact Pam Adams at [email protected].
Classes will be held March 3rd and 4th 4:30 to 5:30 to prepare for the event! Resume building and Interview skills!
On March 11, build your resume and apply for one of the "mock jobs" to get the full experience when you arrive on the 18th.

Reminder.....the I'd Eat That! Kitchen will be at American Furniture on Carlisle and Menaul this Saturday from 11-1:30. We will be selling Hotdogs and Pretzels with a smokey cheese sauce and lemonade. Come check us out if you are in the neighborhood! All proceeds go to New Day Youth and Family Services and the I'd Eat That! Kitchen. Hope to see you there. Brian Mundell and Josh Fuentes from the Isotopes will be there to sign autographs and take pictures and there will be games for the whole family

Kitchen will be at American Furniture on Carlisle and Menaul doing a fundraiser on July 27th 2019 from 11am to 1:30 selling Hot Dogs and Pretzels and Strawberry Lemonade. Hello I'd Eat That! Kitchen followers. We are selling for a limited time our newest empanadas Spicy Chicken with roasted poblano peppers and our Calabacitas Yum Yum! We will also be selling our Caramel Apple and Peach with Oat crumble.

The next session of the I'd Eat That! Kitchen has begun! We have finished our second week and we have some great young people who are participating. We are excited to get back in the kitchen and we will be adding some new empanadas soon to our ever expanding menu!
We are testing a spicy chicken at the moment, so stay tuned!

This is for young people ages 16-24. Are you looking for experience to add to your resume? Have you never held a job? Have you had a difficult time holding onto a job?
Well, The I'd Eat That! Kitchen might be the place for you.
You would learn knife skills, kitchen safety and sanitation and customer service with the chance to earn a food handlers certification that's good for 2 years! We'll cover the cost. Practice interview skills and gain confidence in applying for jobs. Life Skills coaching is also available to support day to day obstacles that you might face such as time management, transportation, food and clothing.

Dear Facebook Friends, I would like to thank you for all the support you have shown New Day and the I'd Eat That! Kitchen.
When you purchase our empanadas you are not just buying a delicious empanada. You are helping our young people prepare for the workforce. Making empanadas is a small part of what is happening at the I'd Eat That! Kitchen. Teamwork,communication, knife skills, kitchen sanitation, interview skills and customer service can lead to a food handlers license that can give them a leg up on getting and keeping a job in not just Albuquerque but wherever they may land.
We are gearing up for our next session in February!
