It seems because we changed our address on Google our Google standing has dipped down below other allentown florists. So we were 3 or 4 on the list when googling,now we are like 6 or 7

Today is National Drive-In Day! On June 6, 1933, Richard Hollingshead opened the world's first drive-in movie theater in Camden, New Jersey. Less than a year later, Wilson Shankweiler was inspired to build our drive-in, which is now the oldest still in operation!

While the history of the drive-in is something to celebrate, we want to highlight that there are still hundreds of drive-in theaters operating in the US (plus more in Canada, Australia, France, Germany - the list goes on!). Most of the drive-ins in the US are independently owned and operated and continue to be integral parts of their communities. No two drive-ins are the same, with each offering a different, unique experience.

For example:

*The Calvert Drive-In in Kentucky recently re-opened under new ownership (and have become our great friends) and serve a mindblowing amount of their legendary burgers every day

*The Dependable Drive-in near Pittsburgh PA has four screens and is open all year - which actually inspired us to develop our year-round model!

*The Circle Drive-In in Scranton PA is chock-full of some really creative events and concerts

*The Bengies Drive-In outside Baltimore MD is celebrating its 68th anniversary today and is known for having the biggest screen in the US

*The Bethel Drive-In in Vermont serves their concessions out of an adorable old school bus!

There are SO MANY drive-ins being purchased, reopened, or revitalized. We are also excited to see quite a few brand new drive-ins opening around the country: the Quasar in Nebraska, Fleo's Flicks in Ohio, WarHouse Drive-In in Alabama, the Loco Drive-In in Tennessee, and Four Brothers Drive-In in Amenia NY were all built within the past few years.

In honor of National Drive-In Day, we hope you will seek out drive-in theaters in your own area and enjoy some movies under the stars!
