Live music @ The Andover Coffeehouse, TONIGHT (Friday) at 7 pm

It's time for the Andover Community Coffeehouse! TONIGHT, Friday, Dec. 15
featuring singer/songwriter Mary Maquire... Doors open at 6:00 for food & open mic sign-ups! Music starts at 7:00! Highland Lake Grange Hall, East Andover

Tonight's featured performer is longtime New Hampshire singer-songwriter Mary Maguire, looking forward to sharing warm songs of the season with the Coffeehouse crowd. Long-time lead singer of The Mary Maguire Band, and co-founder of Sweet, Hot & Sassy!, Mary has taught many workshops at music festivals and been a guest artist on other musicians' recordings. More recently returning to her academic roots, Maguire is currently teaching Spanish and French, and yes, her guitar comes out in the classroom as well!

The Highland Lake Grange Hall is on the corner of Rt. 11 and Chase Hill Road in East Andover. Doors open at 6 pm for Open Mic sign-ups on a first-come/first-served basis, as well as sound checks and light supper food items available for purchase, provided by Donna and her crew from the Andover Community Church -- hot dogs, wraps, soups, desserts and beverages. The evening is free, although we "pass the hat" and generous donations are gratefully accepted to be shared with the featured performer.

CROWES PASTURE: Guitar and Banjo Duo THIS FRIDAY, March 17th at 7:00 PM Highland Lake Grange Hall.

Headlining the Andover Community Coffeehouse this month is Crowes Pasture, a Massachusetts-based folk duo comprised of Monique Byrne and Andy Rogovin. According to Folk Wales Online Magazine, the pair's recent album, Edge of America, is “peppered with fabulous harmonies and beautiful instrumentation, and their sensitive songwriting weaves around the material of Dylan, Donovan and Cohen; it’s pure American.” They're a recent "Roots Act of the Year" nominee, New England Music Awards, 2022.

The event is open to the public at no charge but generous donations are welcome when we "pass the hat" to be shared with the featured performer. There will also be a handful of "open mic" performers doing a song or two each.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for food and beverage purchases -- hot dogs, wraps, soups, desserts -- as well as sound checks and Open Mic sign-ups on a first come, first served basis. Music begins at 7:00.

The sponsor of this month’s coffeehouse is the Andover Energy Group, an organization of volunteers working to improve energy efficiency at the local level. For more information about the featured act and the Andover Coffeehouse, check out www.andovercoffeehouse.org. The Coffeehouse operates under the umbrella of The Andover Community Hub; more information about The Hub can be found at www.andoverhub.org.

It's the 3rd Friday, must be the Andover Coffeehouse!

The Andover Community Coffeehouse
featuring "Green Heron"
Friday, April 16, starting at 7 p.m.

We're delighted to have the husband-and-wife duo "Green Hero" as our featured performers, and you're in for a real treat! As New Hampshire Magazine wrote, "If there was ever a recipe for treating the 'pandemic blues,' it's listening to the music of Green Heron," when it featured Green Heron among the "Editor's Choice" picks for its "Best of 2020" issue.

Featuring Betsy Heron (formerly Green) on fiddle, banjo and vocals, and Scott Heron on guitar, banjo and vocals, the duo has been sharing New England stages together since 2016. You can find out more about Green Heron on their website -- https://www.greenheronmusic.com/

The evening is free although we'll "pass the hat" virtually so you can add something to the Green Heron's tip jar.

And following the featured performers, there'll be a couple of Open Mic performers performing a song or two. Lots of variety, always fun!

Want to join us? Contact us at [email protected] and we'll send you the Zoom link.
