Happy Father’s Day!!
Kelvin, Thank you for everything you do for Dakota and I. It’s has been so fun watching you on this fatherhood journey. The way Dakota lights up when she sees you says so much. I couldn’t imagine doing parenthood with anyone else but you. We love you!

Dakota has improved so much with her reading. Our goal has been to read a book a day. Sometimes it’s hard to get her to focus. I recently tried out a yummy way to help her out when she is struggling with staying on task.

PEACE. LOVE. PARTY |Celebrating Six Groovy years of Dakota Blu’

For the first time in 6 years it decided to rain on Kota’s party day, so I had to cancel the outdoor Daisy oasis I had planned. The weatherman said it was set to stop at 11am, but they be lying so I decided to move most of the decor Inside just incase😂

Despite that, everything turned out great and Dakota and her crew had an amazing time. Most of her friends went out of town for spring break, so we kept it small. They jumped, planted flowers, and ate good.

My dad helped me build this backdrop. Stay tuned for the tutorial.

D While Dakota is away… Mommy and Daddy play, but not without our Lysol To Go. There are so many things we hadn’t done over the past two years that we once did all the time. Bowling is one of those things. I was sure to bring our Lysol to Disinfect surfaces because there are so many different things that are shared at the bowling alley.

# AD As y’all know my family and I love celebrating life, whether the occasion is big or small, and we are very intentional about the cards we give. I love when I receive a card and the message almost seems as if it was written for me. After showing Dakota a keepsake box of all her birthday cards she has received over the years, she now has to be in charge of picking out the card we are giving.

We recently went into Kroger to grab an birthday card. @ krogerco has a wonderful selection of cards and gift wrap for a great price. So we also grabbed this beautiful gift bag. Dakota couldn’t decide which one she wanted so we ended up getting two. Luckily right now you can save $3 when you buy any two American Greeting cards or gift packaging.

Although Dakota is young, I still think giving cards with gifts is important because children may stop playing with the toys when they grow out of them, but being able to look back on the birthday cards you received from family members over the years will be an amazing feeling once they get older.

# ad At least once a week I love to do a mommy-and-me date with Dakota for lunch or dinner just to get away from our everyday routine and spend some quality time. Our favorite thing to do has been picnics. We pack up our favorite foods, lay out our blanket and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Summer is slowly coming to an end, but one thing we plan to continue once school starts is our evening mommy and me evening stroll and park date at our neighborhood trail.

It’s a great way to help Dakota burn off some energy before bedtime and it’s also a step in the right direction for me to get back in shape. We always pack a snack to enjoy before heading back home. One of our favorites is Musselman's Apple Sauce. Dakota loves the strawberry flavor and I always reach for the cinnamon. It’s the perfect snack as it has no high fructose corn syrup and the apples are handpicked from grower-owned family farms. ✨ Dakota’s takes Kindergarten ✨ Y’all she was so excited this morning. She popped up ready for school . Let’s pray she keeps this energy for the remainder of the school year. I’m so proud of her and I can’t wait to see her do amazing things this school year. I’ll let her report how her first day went in stories when I go pick her up this afternoon.

# AD Ready. Set . Summer! I stopped by Publix to grab some of my Summer Grilling favorites which include PEPSI®,PEPSI® ZERO SUGAR, bublyTM , DORITOS® , and LAY'S® , because no Barbecue is complete without the chips and sips. Our house is almost put together enough for us to have our housewarming so I decided to break in the smoker to make sure I still had it. I made a BBQ can chicken and DORITOS casserole. Head to my stories to see how I used our smoker to make it, and Don’t forget the chips and sips next time you are shopping at Publix.

What you’ll need:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef or chuck, browned 1/4 - cup onion, chopped
1 - clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons chili powder
1- package DORITOS®, crushed
15 oz can ranch style beans or chili beans
10 oz can mild tomatoes ,undrained 10 oz can cream of chicken
2 cups Mexican style cheese blend

Layer ingredients in a casserole dish and heat at 350.

We are still getting settled in our new home, but it is important for me to have our entry way completed. I love to keep an plug in along with fresh flowers to create a welcoming environment that smells just as good as it looks. But first, brunch! On Saturdays I love getting in the kitchen with Dakota to make brunch for the family. Because we want more time out enjoying the beautiful spring weather, we make one of our favorite quick recipes, egg bites, which only requires Sausage, cheddar cheese, and eggs. You can also substitute the sausage with Wright Brand Bacon. I always make extra to save for the mornings or weekdays. They are perfect to grab and go.
