It's International Cri Du Chat Awareness Day! Our Leila was diagnosed with cri du chat (5p-) syndrome when she was 8 months old, after she started falling behind on her developmental milestones. We were given all sorts of bad news and basically told to lose any expectations of having a "normal" child.

Long story short, the last year and a half has been a whirlwind for our family. Our schedule is packed with doctors visits to all sorts of specialists and multiple therapies every week. It's hard. VERY HARD. Not just for Leila, but for all of us. In addition to just being "mom," I have taken on the roll of caretaker, therapist, doctor, advocate, and personal assistant. It's truly exhausting, but there is NOTHING that I wouldn't do for my baby. Although, I do spend the most time with Leila, I have to say that I could not be the parent that I am without the help and support of my husband and family. It truly takes a village, y'all!

I'm sharing this with you all, not for pity or for you to think that having a child with special needs sounds like a nightmare (because it's actually been a blessing), but to enlighten you. Leila is different, but we love that about her! She is a feisty little thing with long, skinny legs, and the strength of a lion. She has taught us so much about what it is to love with such depth and passion. She has opened our eyes to a world filled with other children and families who have similar struggles and successes.

We are so proud of our little angel! She is learning to walk and can sign a few words and phrases in sign language. She has the best little snorty laugh that comes from deep within her. She adores her big brother, and he adores her! She's growing, and getting so smart and strong. She's our little spitfire unicorn princess, and I wouldn't have it any other way! I couldn't imagine a world without her, and while her future may be uncertain, I can say (without a shadow of a doubt), that this girl will bring more joy and understanding to this crazy world in which we live. 💕

Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the beloved Lizzie Tennyson. We had the pleasure of meeting and working with Lizzie through Hungry Bunch, Party in Pink, and Top Austin Model. She always brought positivity and grace in front of the camera, and more importantly, behind the scenes supporting her friends and all of those around her. You will be missed. ❤️

Our ButterFly Internship is an exciting opportunity to work alongside top professionals in a fun and creative environment. Expand your knowledge and experience in the event industry, exploring and implementing trends and techniques to create unique, memorable events.

DESCRIPTION
Internship duties include, but are not limited to, create and execute marketing strategies, attend client and vendor meetings when appropriate, work directly with clients to facilitate vendor bookings, research innovative options for projects and events, and assist on site at events. Our seasonal internships require a commitment of approximately 5-8 hours each week, in addition to on-site attendance at weddings and special events over the course of 4, 6, or 9 months. Based in Austin, Texas; may require some travel outside of Greater Austin Area.

PAID / NON-PAID
Interns receive hourly on-site wages at events, plus commission opportunities! All other internship duties are unpaid unless otherwise stated.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive programs, excellent communication skills, familiarity with various social media platforms, exhibit consistent calm demeanor under pressure, ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently, weekend and evening availability for meetings and events.
