On Monday, June 3rd, the Mitchell County Farm Bureau Women's Committee hosted a Teacher Workshop for 17 teachers in the Mitchell County Schools. A tour of the Bark House in Spruce Pine was a truly educational experience.

Then on to the Buck's Tree Farm in Bandana where we learned the new innovations for growing your own seedlings from seed.

Lunch was at Harrell Hill Farms where we discussed sorghum production and tasted some of the product.

Some history of this 200 year old farm was shared as well as what the future may hold for farmers in Mitchell County.
