I haven't done a wedding in a barn in a really long time...! And I forgot how great they can be! Yesterday I was at Blackberry Farm and the guests were treated with all the amenities that the park offers to their visitors: train rides (an actual train on a track!), classic carousel rides, amazing sunset views over the lake, and such a peaceful and beautiful background to the ceremony, all just to ourselves.It was all very whimsical! I can't wait to see those pictures and videos! And the cherry on the icing was the air conditioned barn itself (is it really a barn wedding if there's AC hahaha). After all the formalities were done, we were ready to party, and boy did we PARTY all night until the very last minute +5 minutes after the last song, because we HAD to do an encore ;)

Congratulations to Eric and Ashley! From the moment we met and you said "we just want you to cook all night!" I knew we were going to have a great time! I love it when my couples let me mix all night my secret sauce for their guests! From the hugs, selfies, high fives and screams all night, I think they all enjoyed last night's menu :)

Special shout-out to the amazing staff at the Barn! The attention to details was second to none and everything was absolutely wonderful, from the moment the doors opened all the way to the last minute when they kicked me out :)

Yesterday we celebrated Stefani and Jordan, and it was one of the most insane weddings I ever DJ-ed. And I DJ-ed a lot of weddings over the past 20 years haha. One thing I instantly loved about Stefani when we met to discuss her wedding, is that she KNOWS what she wants, so she gave me very clear concepts about how she wanted the afternoon and the evening to go; while at the same time letting me "do my thing" on the dancefoor, and that was such a huge win-win! So the day finally arrived, and every aspect of the wedding was like a perfectly scripted netflix show, to which my role was to play the perfect soundtrack. I had to set up three different sound systems across the vast place, including for the most romantic ceremony in the middle of a remote vineyard (it was fun to do a bit of off-road to get there!) and the first dances under a majestic painted Italian dome, separate from the dancefloor: it all felt like we were on a set of "Emily in Paris". The day went by so fast I didn't get the chance to capture a lot of pictures, but I'm sure the photographer and videographer had a blast in all these locations.
The food was predictably amazing, and punctuated by a multitude of fun activities (a crazy table dash, wonderful speeches, an impromptu rap-style speech from childhood friends, and even a special dance with the little ones right before they went to bed). We concluded the evening activities with a ceremonious cutting of the pizza (we "were in Italy" after all!), and the most heartfelt thank you speech ever from the couple. When it was finally time to open the actual dancefloor, the guests were READY to party and they were screaming and singing so loud I had to crank up my brand new speakers to 11! They come from Italy (I had just received them two days ago!!) so very fitting :) I'm sure the whole village could hear us beyond the vineyards lol. But here is perhaps the best part of the whole day: during the whole evening a pizzaiolo was cooking amazing freshly made authentic pizzas in a wood-fire oven for the guests to enjoy. It was quite possibly the best Neapolitan pizza I've ever had in my life! I have to stop here or I'll keep going all day haha
Stefani and Jordan, you are an amazing couple! I feel so lucky to have been a part of this extraordinary day! The hugs at the end of the night felt so genuine and so heartfelt, I think we did good and all the guests had a fantastic time throughout the day, I know I DID! Thank you both for having me and I wish you and all your friends and family a life filled with the same crazy and fun, as yesterday was (maybe not everyday haha)!

"DUDE YOU'RE KILLING IT!" is what a guy yelled at me from the dancefloor this time hahaha, and he wasn't the only one! I could tell this crowd came to party already during cocktail hour and then during the whole dinner, they were excited to be here and wanted to make the most of it, so they did! The father of the bride started things off by listing and thanking family and friends who travelled from all over the United States, and that alone took forever because there were so many of them, and each group started singing something special from their states (I have no idea what, I'm from Europe lol but they were pretty LOUD about it haha).
Everything about yesterday was absolutely amazing, the ceremony was thoughtful, emotional and fun thanks to a great officiant who told the story of Leah and Joe in a pretty spectacular romanticized style, the weather was perfect, the photobooth was a huge hit thanks to a truly epic home-made backdrop that could have been featured on a Hollywood red carpet, the food was delicious, we did a crazy "table dash", there was a live painter who completed a canvas of the couple during the reception, I'm telling you I could keep going all day about all the ways yesterday was absolutely PERFECT. And of course, the dancefloor... OMG that dancefloor was for the ages. It was so great that my transition screw-ups were mostly due to guests distracting me with fist bumps, hugs and compliments. And lots of beers lol.
It was all absolutely amazing!
Leah and Joe, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for a truly epic evening, and wish the rest of your lives to be truly as fantastic as last night was!

"THIS MUSIC SUCKS!" is what a lady yelled at me, late last night...! I know this means I was actually doing a great job because by that time, we were well into the second half of the night, where the vibe shifts to an open format "club" when I play more recent rap and all sorts of stuff that most of the "first half of the night guests" usually watch from a distance with a bewildering look haha. And that's okay because by that time most of them usually have left the dancefloor, tired, anyways... But not last night!! Let me tell you, they OWNED the dancefloor and didn't want to leave at all! Requesting classic music from way back in the 1970's! Oh, they came to party!! So I quickly went back to playing disco music, and everybody kept going all the way to the very last minute when the venue manager asked me (or rather forcefully told me) to kill the music lol
Oh and I got to play with my brand new all-white PA system, AND my bubble cannon on the dancefloor (briefly... because the manager yelled at me again... "No bubbles here, sir". Boo...)
Oh what a night! Angie and Nick, I had the time of my life thanks to you and all your wonderful guests! Thank you for having me be part of a magic night to remember, I wish your wedding to be the neverending party that started last night!

Last night I was back at one of my favorite places... The BRIX, to celebrate Joseph and Brianna getting married! Let me tell you this: the BRIX built-in sound system is a world class act that can rival a Taylor Swift concert, and yet the guests were screaming so loud that a few times I couldn't even hear the beats, nor myself on the microphone...! Needless to say, we had a fantastic time screaming -sorry dancing- to the best playlist, doing what had to be the world's longest conga line (>200 guests!), and ending with the most romantic last dance at the end of the night after all the guests had reluctantly left the dancefloor!

Alright, alright, alright, let's pause here for a moment so I can introduce to you Mr and Mrs Mitchell and Dana! I say that a lot at weddings, when I get a packed dancefloor well before it's actually opened...! And last night I had to do it a few times because we were already dancing to great tunes before we even opened the dancefloor with the traditions! That's how great last night was, packed from beginning to end! I had a fantastic time at a fabulous place, with fabulous guests, and a no less fabulous couple! Cheers to a great time with Dana and Mitchell's friends and family!
A special shout out to the wonderful staff, everything was absolutely impeccable, all the way to the private first dance after everybody had gone home...!

ooooOWhooooooWaAAAhat a NIGHT! Another very rainy day gave me a hint of what was to come in the evening hahaha. We unfortunately had to give up on the outside ceremony, but not after everybody got very wet lol, which will make this marriage even extra happier -see my previous gig log :)
Rachel and Phil, I don't have the words... Last night was fantastic. We blew past all the "last calls" without realizing it screaming to the best Emo anthems, only to find ourselves blinded by the floodlights coming back on, when the staff tried to get everybody to pack up and leave hahaha. You know it's been a good night when the dancefloor is packed until past all the last calls and there's still plenty pizza left on the snack buffet and untouched cakes on the plates.
I also know I did good last night because a LOT of cool kids came to tell me that my transitions were SO ON POINT and my playlists were BUSSIN'. When she left, the mother of the groom gave me a hug saying I was the best Wedding DJ she'd ever heard, and if there is a better compliment, I don't know what it is :)

In French we say "Mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux" which translates into something like "rainy wedding day, happy married life ever after"! Well, I guarantee that this will be the happiest life ever after for Katherine and Robert! We practiced and prepped for hours the week prior, outside in the beautiful park under the arch... but the sky had other plans for us, and we ended up having to do everything inside the Pavilion. I quickly called my awesomely supportive wife to bring me my Ape Labs to turn the venue into a navy blue wonderland and we were off to the races!
The wonderful ceremony was followed by the best speeches ever, that even included a full 3 min shout-out from the groom to DJ Heisenberg, that got me all emotional as I was totally not expecting this...!
Here's to Robert and Katherine! May your ever after life be as wonderful, emotional, and happy as your wedding day!

Nuts! Last night was crazy! The dancefloor was so packed I couldn't even walk around to take my usual little clips during peak times! There were so many special requests, so many sing-along's, so much karaoke (Serato STEM for the win!!), so much Emo,... we did it all! It was one of the most intense wedding dancefloor ever...! Even the photobooth ran out of paper before the end of the night, for the first time ever (there was 441 pictures uploaded when I woke up this morning!). Oh what a night.... I love it when I get all the generations together on the dancefloor throwing their hands up, and singing along to the best music ever. There was something for everybody, all mixed in a seamless musical adventure from the past 50 years, my favorite way to make make the magic happens! I know I'm doing a good job when guests of all ages bring me beers, and take selfies with me during the evening :)
Veronica and Nick! I am so grateful for an amazing night with you and your whole family (friends are family!) I hope you remember last night as the best wedding reception you could have dreamed of!
Big shout-out to my whole family who came for an hour early, to help set up everything because I busted my foot the evening before playing soccer, and could barely walk...!

Last night was a night to remember! We had an amazing time all day, from the outdoor ceremony on a perfect sunny day, all the way to the very last song on the dancefloor (check out these photos!!!). Behind the scenes, it was a day of exciting firsts for me! First time at the gorgeous Ivanhoe Country Club, first time using my new insane Italian-made RCF sound system (and BOY is it loud!), first time testing out a new dancefloor "happy hour" playlist that I have been curating for the past few weeks in my studio, and last but not least first time using my fully integrated photobooth system (including a printer, that gave me anxiety all night lol).
Here's to Ali and Jake! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the feels and the memories. Congratulations on a perfect celebration yesterday, and here's to a lifetime of happiness!

Last night was FIRE, there is no other word...!
I was so excited to finally meet Jacqueline and Michael after having spent so much time with their family on the phone, planning the day! I was also very excited to discover a new venue (to me), the wonderful Fishermen's inn in Elburn!
The day went by WAY too fast and by the time we said goodbye on the dancefloor with my now traditional "the aftermath group shot", I had only gone through half of the playlist I had prepared!
Congratulations Jacqueline and Michael, I am pretty sure your guests won't forget this amazing night!
HUGE shout out to Kara at the Fishermen's Inn, and all the wonderful staff, you guys make these nights a success, with a smile and so much attention to detail!

In the series “slowly but surely making my way through the area’s most amazing wedding venues”… Yesterday I was at Prairie Street Brewing Company in Rockford, and let me tell you: the place was on FIRE all night (figuratively). After a fantastic ceremony on the deck where I got the chance to test out my brand new entirely wireless system (it worked flawlessly!), we were off to the races with an always crazy table dash right after the grand entrance, fabulous steak dinner, emotional speeches and of course a packed dancefloor all night. We did some classic 90’s emo singalongs, a whole lot of very impressive karaoke (thank you STEM Pioneer!), and a jump contest to the classic “time of my life”, all blend in with nonstop requests to play an entire set of Creed songs (“Higher” was requested twice (!!) and sang along so loud that I couldn’t even hear the actual track itself without my headphones lol).
Dan and Natalie, thank you again from the bottom of my heart for all the feels and all the love, it was a magical night to remember!

We have to talk about last night’s wedding of Reby and Jeff!
I feel privileged to DJ the most fascinating weddings and last night felt like it topped them all off. Reby was wearing an extraordinary all-black dress perfectly matched by Jeff’s suit, and both were standing in front of a mesmerizing backlit black moon croissant that remained the glowing centerpiece during the entire wedding reception. Dinner concluded with a crazy reverse table-dash (all the tables had to run to the black moon to get their picture taken with the couple rather than the couple bouncing around each table). After that we went outside to take spectacular pictures in front of a majestic fireworks, that kicked-off the craziest dance party ever on the BRIX dancefloor! I’m running out of superlatives to describe how amazing last night’s wedding was and how much fun it was to DJ/MC the whole reception. Thank you Reby and Jeff for having me be a part of last night’s epic event!

Let me tell you about last night at Zach & Katy’s wedding! In the series “Every wedding is unique and yesterday was no different”, I don’t think I ever laughed so much during a wedding ceremony (in a good way lol)! It was a 30 minutes whirlwind of tears of laughter & tears of joys, punctuated by scripture readings and a traditional Celtic “handfasting ceremony” performed by the groom’s brother. All this made for challenging logistics when setting up everybody with microphones and mixing it all together seamlessly, but this truly is the fun of it all, and so satisfying when it all comes together with the soundtrack into a perfect ceremony that most of the guests will never forget. The three little babies I counted in the room probably will not lol. The dinner was also an event on its own, with a crazy photo tabledash, an open dancefloor for the little ones while the adults enjoyed their meals, and of course the most heartwarming toasts from family members and close friends. After all this, I knew I needed to step up on the dancefloor and we certainly did. We ended the evening the same way as we started -only with a different song- (spot the difference on the first and last dance photos!), and even did a fun and emotional “generations dance” which was a fun first for me, spanning from 67 years of marriage to… just a few hours!
Zach & Katy, I don’t have the words to express how grateful I was to be a brief part of your journey and meet all your friends and family! I wish you the very best!

I know it’s been a great night when I look the next day in my phone and there’s not a lot of action shots…. It means I was too busy quick-mixing and goofing off with the incredibly complex light controller at the BRIX creating amazing light effects (amazing to me anyways lol)!
Last night was no different. As I was preparing for Connie and Moritz’ wedding, I realized that the “Party playlist” she sent me was pretty much identical to the music I usually play when I’m left to “do my thing on the dancefloor”, so I knew I was going to have a great time with their family and friends! I wasn’t disappointed, and by the sound of the guests, and the sweat of their goodbye hugs, I am pretty sure they will agree!!
Congratulations and thank you Connie and Moritz, I had an absolutely incredible time DJing your wedding celebration, and I wish you and your friends & family a lifetime of happiness!

Every wedding is different and despite similar schedule of events, there are always things that make each one special... Last night was no different! I always tell my couples "no one will notice every single little details you painstakingly prepare for the day, but as a whole, they will make your wedding perfect. It is the same for the music. The guests may not notice each song I play, but when the night is over they hug me good night saying they had a fantastic time on the dancefloor dancing to music they love, and to music they don't remember they use to love".
Everything was perfect last night: the speeches were met with a standing ovation, the food was awesome, the groomsmen requested and danced to a special EDM song dressed as garden gnomes (!!!), and the dancefloor was packed all night! MY DJ for the win!

When I first met Hannah and Mike they were concerned that their wedding was on the day of my birthday… So I just replied to them “what better way to celebrate my birthday than DJing your wedding?!” and boy did we celebrate! We did it all last night: gorgeous photobooth, pulsing uplights on the dancefloor, moving heads for a splash of color and of course the best music all night long. Even the rain didn’t stop us from enjoying the ceremony where the two most wonderful flower girls were handing over shots of fireball LOL. The marathon dance set lasted a full 4h and had to stop abruptly at 12:00 when I realized that the shuttle driver was standing behind me, impatiently waiting to drive all the guests to their hotel haha :)
We still ended up the night with a very special private dance for the couple… Mike and Hannah, I wish you both -and all your wonderful family- a lifetime of happiness!
Cherry on the icing, my partner in crime Mikey Mike came all the way from Kalamazoo to help me celebrate my birthday!!

Introducing for the first time Tim and Katlynn Visitsuttapong! Another absolutely wonderful wedding celebration at the always perfect BRIX, filled with so much emotions and laughter… You often do learn so much about who both the bride and groom really are from listening to their friends and family’s speeches. It took a full 30minutes this weekend, and made me truly realize how amazing both Tim and Katlynn are, by the things they accomplish in life while caring for others. Tim and Kathlynn, It was an honor to witness and DJ the celebration of your love this weekend! The party never stopped and we ended up doing a full 15min of “encores” (sorry Erin…!) including an entire Karaoke of Rick Astley “Never Gonna Give You Up” on the mic as we hugged goodbye!

Introducing Mr and Mrs Costello! Patrick warned me when we first met that they both LOVE to dance and party! And boy did they! I don’t often see a bride change outfit before jumping on the dancefloor and be the all-night Dancing Queen! Saying that last night’s wedding was epic would be an understatement. ~250 guests and a dancefloor so big, I could not see the end of it and I had to set up two separate systems to cover the area! Needless to say I had an absolute blast! I completely skipped dinner, dessert, didn’t even take the time to post any live feeds or any pictures online; and I even missed the late night snacks LOL! But what I got all night were all the high fives, fist bumps, hugs and beers that so many guests brought me all night to thank me!
Congratulations Patrick and Olivia, I hope it was a night you won’t ever forget, and I’m so grateful I was a part of it!

Congratulation Mr & Mrs Dan & Jessica Campbell!
This was my first time at the wonderful “Company 251” in Aurora and what a night it was! A few days before the wedding, Jes just said to me “for the dancefloor we want you to just do your thing, but please no line dance and no country”. Well hold my beer LOL! I had an amazing time and LOVED the last 20 minutes of classic 90’s singalong set (Spice Girls, Destiny’s Child, Backstreet Boys, TLC, you name it we did it!). And as it has become a tradition, we ended the same way as we started with everybody making a big circle of love around the happy couple for their “second” first dance of the night, the difference being everybody was singing along, and no one looked quite the same as they did 4h earlier. Just check out the before and after picture LOL

We did it all last night! I knew we were off to a great start the minute I met the father of the bride…! After he got the whole room in tears (of laughter’s and joy) while officiating a fantastic ceremony, we were off to the races: amazing watercolor artist painting artwork during cocktail hour and dinner -which was fantastic; speeches, and some Blink 182 karaoke during dinner, followed by a real fireworks over the fox river (courtesy of the city of Carpentersville, sadly I didn’t capture any picture of THAT!), and a wonderful sing-along first dance! Finally, after all that, the dancefloor went off like a rave and we danced all night to the best songs ever, and ended with a very special final couple dance under the ladders of the clean-up team ;)

In the end of the last encore, I felt a little like a rock star when a lot of the guests were screaming “DJ HEISENBEEERG” haha!

Introducing the fabulous Mr and Mrs Joey & Hanna Dunlap! I had a fantastic time at the BRIX last night celebrating with this wonderful couple and their friends and family! My favorite part about the BRIX is that you can’t beat their professional sound system and lightshow. In just a few clicks, boom the whole venue turns into a nightclub with world class sound and lights. Add a great music playlist to the mix, and you get the perfect recipe for a night to remember forever! I think the pictures speak for themselves! …… OH what a NIGHT! Last night we celebrated an amazing couple Nathan and Michelle, and what a CELEBRATION that was! When we met the first time, they just said to me: “you do your thing, we want our guest to have a good time!” so I went all out with the light show and the Italian-made sound system! The dancefloor was packed all night long until the very last song “The Pursuit of Happiness” followed by the best encore of all “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”… And it was already time to say goodbye after the most amazing night… It took the photobooth another hour to complete spitting out the remaining prints from such large backlog of pictures (a record breaking 514 pictures throughout the afternoon/evening!) and from all the hugs and high-fives that I got while I was trying to tear down the scene, I think we did good :)
Thank you Michelle and Nathan, I drove home with the biggest smile on my face, humming and singing all the way to my bed at 2am :)

...Introducing for the first time the amazing Mr & Mrs Ryan & Meaghan Helsdingen!
One of my busiest BRIX wedding of the 2023 season didn’t disappoint! Ryan warned me that their families LOVE to dance, and boy did they dance! The dancefloor was packed all night with all the guests, from teenagers to grandparents, what a celebration! The playlist even included a New Wave set from the 80’s, including songs I hadn’t played in decades (Cure, New Order, Dexys Midnight Runners….)! Thank you for the memories, and especially thank you for all the wonderful kind words and hugs that so many guests and family members gave me on their way out… This wedding was truly epic, in every sense of the word!
Special thanks to the The BRIX on the Fox (everything was perfect as always!), and to PETES MY DJ for always sharing his most wonderful couples with me! :)

I don’t have the words to accurately describe last night’s wedding at The BRIX! Wow have I rarely seen so much energy on the dancefloor! I always start the evening with a couple of slow dances to warm things up; but last night Yumee said « no need. Just throw in a good banger and we’ll be good to go…! ». I was a bit skeptical but after a few seconds of said banger (« Low » by Flo Rida), we were off to the races, at 8pm. All the way till midnight where we ended things up with a K-pop singalong song. The whole night was absolutely amazing and crazy, including multiple re-enactments of the iconic dancefloor scene from the movie « Pulp Fiction ». The few pictures I’m posting here don’t do justice to last night’s party!
Thank you Yumee and Chris, I had a phenomenal time DJing yesterday, and I wish you the very bestest and happiest rest of your life as a wonderful married couple!

We’re off to the races!
And what a start of wedding season this was!
I had a truly amazing time DJing Josh and Corinne’ wedding celebration at The BRIX on the Fox. The dancefloor was packed all night, the food was amazing, the guest were so complimentary all night, I even got a shout-out from the father of the bride during his speech, and we very nearly managed to complete the coveted “perfect duet” during the ceremony hahaha (one day, I promise!); and that made everything just perfect!
Congratulations Josh and Corinne, and thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will never forget all the fun and laughter’s from last night!
