The Courtyard

The Courtyard Courtyard located in historic Brewery Gulch in the heart of Old Bisbee. Available for your next spec This Courtyard used to be a vacant lot, but is now an Oasis.
(12)

What was once a business establishment in the center of historic Brewery Gulch, one of the old West's wildest streets, is now a retreat and one of Bisbee's most notable gardens. Outstanding features include a rescued 25' Mexican Fan Palm tree from a former Phelps Dodge foundry in Douglas. Also note the beautiful gates, which are repurposed fire doors from the building next door (20 Brewery Ave). T

he concept for the recycled multiple gate fronts was designed by John Porter. Beautiful stonework includes a fountain plus a stage, created by local stone mason, Matt McClellan. This lovely garden is open to the public most weekends and is available for special events. Please email to inquire: [email protected]

Nora Snyder is a poet, performer, organizer, collector, and free-range librarian.
Her work is diverse in topic but is often image-heavy and heart-forward, free-verse serving to elevate the human experience while knitting in lots of interesting connections and humor.

Nora has participated in many events, readings, workshops, and open mics in her former home on the middle finger of the Fingerlakes in Ithaca NY, and now in her new desert town. Nora settled into Sierra Vista Arizona taking her place among three generations of women in her family, her love of 27 years, some sweet fledglings, and lots of furbabies.

She created Sierra Vista Poets, an online and real-life networking and support group for word artists and friends. She is a volunteer for NAMI of South Eastern Arizona and a regular contributor to the Positivity in Pain online journal. She is looking forward to opening her vintage goods Etsy shop- Glimmer Frolic.

Her work has been published in numerous literary journals including Cajun Mutt Press and Blue Heron Review. Two chapbooks of Snyder’s work, The Bee, the Bear, and the Blossom and Spilling Pools of Light, are available on Amazon and her website illuminousflux.com. Her creative influences include Frida Kahlo, Strega Nona, and Ray Bradbury (resilience, abundance, and joy respectively).

Ethan Bonnin, moved to Cochise County in 2018 to conduct wildlife research and explore a new bioregion. Initially attracted by the biodiversity of the Sky Island bioregion, community, and sustainable off-grid living kept him in the area. He spends his time working on watershed restoration projects, doing ecological survey work throughout the state, and tending his homestead in an ocean of creosote.

Ethan will be performing original works during our HCSR event on November 19th between 6:30-8:30 PM. See you there!
