On Tuesday, Sarah, Zach, and Nancy greeted over 70 people at an interactive Open House we organized on behalf of of Watertown, MA - Government Dept. of Public Works for the Mt Auburn St Complete Streets Project at School for the Blind. It was great to see some familiar faces and greet newcomers as well!

RVA is thrilled to welcome our most recent team members:

Keith Sonia recently joined RVA as our new Community Engagement Director. Keith has over a decade of experience working in public affairs, politics, and government. His professional experience includes the offices of two Members of Congress, a gubernatorial campaign, a U.S. Senate campaign, and work on behalf of some of the largest public utility projects in New England. In his free time, Keith is active in civic and political life on the North Shore, enjoys visits to local comedy clubs, and takes as many trips as possible to London, UK, where he went to graduate school and met his fiancée. He lives in Beverly.

Taylor Adams is joining us as our Senior Public Participation Manager. Prior to joining RVA, Taylor earned her Master’s in Global Public Policy at Suffolk University and spent several years working for the Massachusetts State Legislature and the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD). During this time, she specialized in public policy analysis, legislative strategy, and constituent services. While working for EOLWD as the Director of Legislative Affairs, Taylor led the agency’s legislative strategy on major policy projects such as spearheading legislative advocacy for the FY23 annual budget and built strong relationships with key policy stakeholders to advocate for the administration’s policy agenda. Taylor lives in Arlington with her husband, Anthony, and her dog/work from home colleague, Nellie.

Matt Costas is RVA’s new Senior Public Participation Coordinator. Prior to joining RVA, Matt spent several years as a Community Organizer on campaigns throughout Massachusetts and New England. From local Mayoral races to state-wide ballot initiatives to Congressional and Presidential campaigns, Matt has extensive experience with public outreach and coalition building. A graduate of Georgetown University with a BA in American History, Matt currently lives in Allston-Brighton with his fiancée and their two cats.

RVA focuses on making connections between communities. Our CEO, Nancy Farrell, lost her brother to su***de many years ago. As an advocate for the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP), she focuses on public policy and making mental health care affordable and accessible – another version of connecting communities. Here’s a blog Nancy wrote for Mental Health Awareness Month.

Your story is the opening to an ongoing conversation with your representatives. Our job as advocates is to make sure that listening becomes legislation.

Join us in welcoming Jonathan to RVA!

Jonathan Maloberti joined Regina Villa Associates in 2021 as a Community Liaison. Jonathan previously worked in political organizing, notably with the New Hampshire Democratic Party during the 2018 midterm elections, and on Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign. In the spring of 2019, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Political Science from Plymouth State University, and is currently enrolled in a master’s program in International Relations at Northeastern University. Jonathan is passionate about community organizing, he loves getting to know new people, hearing their stories, and helping them advocate for themselves and their communities
