More photos of Jazlyn and Amadeus at the Attaboy Barrel House in Frederick, MD. Their wedding was such a delight! What a cute idea for a cake topper - Polaroid photos of the bride and groom taken after the ceremony! Also, I was so impressed with Jazlyn’s three dresses - a traditional ceremony gown; a silky, flowy dress for cocktails, hula, and dinner; and an awesome sparkly reception party dress! She looked amazing!
It was such a pleasure helping Jazlyn and Amadeus tie the knot last weekend at the Attaboy’s Barrel house in Frederick, MD! Complete with a touching hula dance performed by the happy couple, and wonderful friends and family, this wedding was a joy from start to finish!
I have the best job! It was such an honor to help Johnae and Darrell create their dream vision for their wedding at Brentsville Hall yesterday! The venue was spectacular and the guests had a fabulous time partying and celebrating the happy couple late into the evening! Congratulations and best wishes to Johnae and Darrell!
When you’re on a tight budget, you can create some adorable balloon centerpieces using supplies from the DollarTree and Amazon! I made these centerpiece structures for about $2 each, and was able to reuse them three times with different color balloons from Amazon. Talk about bang-for-your-buck! All three events were for children, and they loved them!
I had the best time coordinating Olympia and Aaron's wedding in Alexandria, VA! It was such a pleasure seeing them tie the knot. My favorite part about wedding planning is working with couples like Olympia and Aaron, who radiate love and joy! I'm so happy for them and wish them all the best for their future life together! The little touches and decorations really bring a wedding to life! Clau’s mix of real flowers and SolaWood flowers was the perfect way to make an impact and stay in budget. Gold, terracotta, and burgundy made this wedding stunning, and complemented the surrounding foliage of the autumn trees. I have to tell you about La soledad Lavender Farm and Guest House in Harpers Ferry https://www.facebook.com/lavenderhf?mibextid=LQQJ4d. My clients held their wedding at the farm, and it was such an amazing venue. The owners, Christie and Juan, are the most wonderful people! Not only was the view spectacular, the flowers gorgeous, and the ambiance perfect, but they also went out of their way to make sure that it would be a successful event. They went above and beyond what was asked of them, because they really care about people and love seeing their guests happy. The wedding was absolutely stunning, in large part due to their hard work. I hope to be able to work with them again very soon! I’ll post some photos from the wedding as soon as I can gather them!
Choosing rental items that go with the decor for a wedding is one of my favorite parts of the job!
Erin and Chris tied the knot last weekend, and I was so happy to help them out by coordinating their day-of events! We had two planning meetings prior to the wedding to iron out to-do lists and the timeline for the day. We were lucky enough to avoid a thunderstorm and they were able to have their ceremony on the beach! It was a beautiful wedding with amazing people!
Would you believe that these flowers are made of wood? They are called Solawood flowers. I’m working on some centerpiece ideas for an upcoming wedding, and my clients love that these flowers won’t die so they can give them away to friends and family as gifts. And how beautiful are these amber-colored vases from Amazon?
I was so honored to help plan and set up for a graduation party for an incredible high school senior the other weekend! Congratulations to him and his family!
How adorable is this luau-themed balloon arch?! I was asked to put it together for a fifth grade promotion party at a local elementary school. Yes, please! How fun!!
Two weekends ago we had a very rainy Sunday, but that didn’t put a damper on this awesome backyard party! The party was planned by my friend Michelle from MP Creative Events, and I helped out on-site on the day of the event. The guests had a fantastic time eating great food, drinking signature cocktails, and staying dry in the tent and under the deck. The kids enjoyed giant lawn games, a balloon artist, glitter tattoos, and a caricature artist. It was a huge success!
The rain held off and it was a beautiful day for a wedding on April 29th! I was so honored to help on-site for this glamorous and gorgeous wedding at the InterContinental the Willard Washington D.C. Hotel, planned by my friend Michelle at MP Creative Events! We took care of everything behind-the-scenes so the bride and groom didn’t have to worry about a thing! I’m thrilled to have been a part of it!
Candice’s birthday bash last weekend was such a blast! The event was held at the beautiful Windridge Vineyards in Darnestown, MD. We created an elegant, floral-themed decor look that elevated the space to the next level. We utilized the sunset, outdoor fire pits, delicious food and wine, a candy bar, a photo balloon backdrop, and a fun party game all about the birthday girl to cultivate an enjoyable evening for all the guests.

I like to be very transparent with my pricing so you can see immediately how much my services will cost. I offer full planning, partial planning, and day-of options, as well as an hourly price. How I can help…
My goal is to take away the stress of the day so that my clients are able to enjoy themselves without worrying about what is happening behind the scenes. With my experience, I am able to help you every step of the way by suggesting venues and vendors, site visits and contracting, communicating and working with vendors, on-site ex*****on, setup, and post-event cleanup and follow-up. I can help as much or as little as you wish. I believe that the success of an event lies in the preparation and details. The thought that goes into those little touches will make your event memorable. I specialize in helping clients plan within a budget, helping with DIY projects, negotiating contracts, décor design, and timeline/itinerary building. About me…
My name is Diane Ricker and I have been planning weddings and events for 15 years. I always had a love for event planning, and have tailored my experience since high school to become highly trained in this field. I started my journey with summer jobs interning at a wedding planning agency, working as a banquet server, and also at a retail bridal salon. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Communications in preparation for a career in event planning. After college, I worked as a non-profit and corporate meeting planner for several years, while also earning my International Wedding Planning Professional certification (IWPP). I have been part of a team that planned conventions for 5,000 attendees, and also planned 20 meetings per year all over the country as the sole meeting planner for a corporation. My love of special events is what convinced me to start my own business. I have planned many weddings and events throughout 6 different states in the mid-Atlantic region. I truly love working with clients to create and execute their perfect vision.
