☀️ SUSAN'S SUNSHINE COOKIE ☀️

A new cookie available for pre-order that is honoring and remembering a special lady in my life, who would be so very proud and supportive of Frosted by Zack.

For those who don't know Susan Bahorich News was my weekend anchor during my time at WDBJ7 in Roanoke. From our post-show breakfast runs to Hardees to just casual conversation, Susan was a true gem, a storyteller and someone who would light up a room with her personality and you couldn't miss those dimples either!

Susan was a fighter, both publicly and privately as she fought ovarian cancer for a decade. Susan lost her fight on July 8, 2022, just three days shy of her 47th birthday.

The news of Susan's passing was a shock, having just spoken to her several days prior. Someone I could call to bounce an idea or get a trusted opinion — was gone.

With the help of Susan's mother, I've crafted this special cookie: It starts with a homemade Nestle Toll House cookie recipe, her favorite cookie. Finished with a teal drizzle for ovarian cancer and a edible sunflower for her bright personality.

Susan's Sunshine Cookie will be part of the July 8th weekly menu, but I'm opening up pre-orders early for those who wish to purchase. These special cookies are $4 each with $1 from every cookie supporting Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance OCRA.

To pre-order, comment or send a direct message. Cookies will be made the week of 7/8 which remembers her passing on that date along with her birthday on 7/11.

Hey all!

Just wanted to pass along some updates.

I had my neurology consultation. Trying me on a new med for migraines. Hoping that will help. Going to do a sleep study to figure out some other possibilities.

Also had a visit with oncology. She sent me to the surgeon. Had a mammogram, ultrasound, and a breast MRI. I have made a preventative decision to have a double mastectomy on December 18 without reconstruction. I will be out of commission for a bit, but hoping to be better sooner rather than later. I hope to be making wiser & better decisions regarding reopening of Gingerbread after the first of the year. I'll keep you abreast of the situation as soon as I know.

Please keep prayers coming. I covet & completely desire them. They've worked before & they'll work again. Here's to you my friends! I love you! ❤️

Hey Gang!!!

Just wanted to drop a message to let y’all know we’re still alive and trying to heal.

So y’all know, Zack is still doing his Frosted by Zack cookies, pies, and yummy Dollywood bread!!!

Kyle has started making treats for our furbabies!!! Scarlett the little diva is ADDICTED to his treats. I’m sure Kyle would love to see y’all and appreciate your business. You can find his dog treats on Facebook at “D G Treats”.

Friends,

I'm sure you've noticed some changes at Gingerbread recently. Without going into deep detail, I will tell you it's my health journey that has slowed me down. Over the next few weeks, I'll be seeing doctors to help sort through some issues that need to be addressed. Because of this, I've made the decision to close the dining room and meal options until further notice. We will still be catering, so if you're in need of holiday dishes, dinner party foods, tailgate snacks, etc., just leave us a direct message on our page.

I will keep you all posted as much as possible, but if you'll send good vibes and prayers, we will get back to it as soon as we can.

In the meantime, Zack is still offering yummy desserts & cookies, so hit him up at Frosted by Zack.

Hello Gang!

Due to some mechanical issues, hvac issues, and other things that need to be addressed, we will be closed this week and next week to resolve these things. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 5. We've got some exciting new things to share with you once we reopen.
