MEET OUR DESIGNER
Grisel Nunez

Nyla’s Flowers is near and dear to Grisel Nunez’s heart, and the epitome of a labor of love. Her granddaughter, Nyla, is the inspiration for her work, as well as namesake for the flower shop. Grisel is a true artisan that pours her heart and soul into every arrangement she creates, breathing life into each piece masterfully and skillfully. The beauty of each arrangement is obviously birthed from a love and passion for floral design.Grisel was born and raised in Gurabo, Puerto Rico and moved to the States as a young woman in the mid 1980’s. Her interest in floral design was cultivated while apprenticing and training under several New York floral designers, who instilled a discipline for intricacy of design, saturation of color, and diversity of flower selection.In 1990, Grisel continued her professional training and development by working with several New Jersey floral designers. In 2000, she had the honor and privilege of being selected to work with David Tutera and further hone her craft. His eye for floral design perfection pushed Grisel to take her design skills to another level. Out of 5 floral designers that were working under Tutera’s leadership and direction, Grisel was selected to design at Tutera’s highly regarded floral shop at the prestigious Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City. Grisel’s unique artistic eye and technical prowess in executing intricately flawless floral designs attracted the praise of the high end clientele of the Taj Mahal. Grisel received further acknowledgement and praise for her work upon receiving first place out of 60 florists from across the United States in a floral design showcase in Atlantic City. These experiences in Atlantic City at the Taj Mahal led Grisel to venture out on her own and open up shop in Camden , New Jersey. She served her community diligently and provided a service grounded in love of her community and fueled by a passion for providing beauty for all occasions. Her commitment to provide high end service at a reasonable and affordable price quickly made her a staple in the community.
