We stress the importance of safety at every event. Working as a team under the direction of your team leaders will help you and your partners mitigate risks associated with court-storming, stage rushing, etc. Our situational awareness and pro-active responsibilities must always be present.

Kansas coach Bill Self said more needs to be done about safety of college basketball players after Kansas State fans rushed the court after Kansas State’s 70-63 upset of the Jayhawks on Monday.

I wanted to give a huge shout out to the VCU Rams led by former Clemson assistant and great guy Shaka Smart and former Clemson assistant and great guy Will Wade. VCU will play in the Final Four on Saturday against Butler. What a great run it has been for the Rams! As a former employee of VCU Athletics, I am pumped for the game on Saturday. GO RAMS!!!!

Happy New Year to everyone from EPI! We haven't slowed down over the holidays. We have had 15 events since Christmas including a High School All-Star football game in Charleston on New Years Eve! Thank you to all of our valuable employees for their hard work in 2010, let's make 2011 the best year yet!

Appalachian State won big today behind 264 yards rushing from their JR QB - IN THE SNOW - and will now host Villanova next weekend (Friday or Saturday - TBD) in the third round of the NCAA FCS playoffs! Good luck Mountaineers!!

Great news for the Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island (EPI Partner)! Great crowds and three-year extension for site.

Some 14,000 spectators attended four-days of tournament play at the Daniel Island Club, according to statistics provided to the Business Journal by event officials.

Hey sports fans, "The Hodge" renovations on the USC Upstate (new EPI Partner) campus are complete!!! The Spartan men's home opener is Monday at 7pm vs UNCA. I have seen the facility - you will be glad you took the time to check out the new digs and some great basketball to boot!

Good luck to the Chants (EPI Partner) on Saturday! Did you know that CCU Head Coach is a PC Grad (EPI Partner) and when they win tomorrow, they will play App State (EPI Partner) next week in Boone?? I am sure that Kevin Bacon is involved here somewhere - I will let you know when we figure it out!

It was a number of years ago when Coastal Carolina coach David Bennett first heard the name Maurice Drayton. He was hearing it a lot.

EPI is going to the BEACH!! Coastal Carolina University has chosen EPI to provide Event Staffing for their first round game in the NCAA I FCS Playoffs when they host Western Illinois this Saturday in Conway, SC! Go Chants!

Appalachian State Mountaineers earned the No. 1 Seed in the upcoming NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs - earning a first-round bye. Interestingly enough, they will host the winner of Coastal Carolina University and Western Illinois - hosted by CCU in Conway, SC this Saturday. The "interesting" thing is EPI has been selected to provide Event Staff at CCU for their first round home game! Football at the Beach - cool!

BIG WEEK: The Gamecocks will come to the Death Valley on Saturday, and the ESPN2 GODS have established a 7pm game time - might be a little chilly, but I have a feeling that most folks with have enough "anti-freeze" in their system to keep them warm!! Good luck to both sides!!

EPI is busy at work with the Charleston Classic at the College of Charleston this weekend. A great field setup by ESPN! And...the "SEC East Champion" Gamecocks host Troy on Saturday at 12:21, while the Blue Hose take on Davidson in Clinton at 1pm. And...for you Bluegrass fans, the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium will host the Indigo Bluegrass Festival Saturday night at 7pm! Sounds like a great fall weekend!

Went to the PC Womens Team beat Erskine this morning at 11:30AM - their education day (yes, they won by 30). EPI folks were on duty with about 1,000 school children on hand - now that is some work. Great relationship with the Blue Hose!!

Congrats to the Champions! The Gamecocks are SEC East Champions (earning a trip to the Georgia Dome for a rematch with Auburn), and the Mountaineers won the SoCon Title with a big win over Wofford! Great football day on Saturday - that mean's bonus football for everyone!!

Another huge week for the EPI family! Twelve (12) events in three days - that's like an average of 4 a day, or something. That includes a Saturday with four (4) football games, a volleyball, and yes - a basketball game! Actually, the first BB game is an exhibition game at PC, COC and ASU on THURSDAY...yeah BABY!
