Colleen and Nolan's wedding day began with cocktail hour on the Terrace Lawn, followed by a celebration in our elegant ballroom. A custom gobo by our in-house AV team and draping by Lowcountry Entertainment created a beautiful space for the event.

Join us on Nov 3 for a night of unforgettable performances by some of the South’s most celebrated artists, including Shovels & Rope, Ranky Tanky, Quiana Parler, Charlton Singleton & Friends, Elise Testone, and more! 🌟

All proceeds from the concert will benefit the North Carolina Arts Foundation’s NC Arts Disaster Relief Fund, providing critical financial support to artists and arts organizations in Western North Carolina, starting with basic necessities and eventually helping to rebuild the region’s arts community.

This weekend!

We’re only ONE WEEK away! Mark your calendars for the Wassamasaw Powwow happening next Saturday, October 12th, at the Old Santee Canal Park.

Join us for an exciting day filled with Native American culture, traditions, and entertainment. The Powwow will feature two renowned drum groups, Bad Boyz and Warpaint Singers. Kaya Littleturtle will be our master of ceremonies, and Tony Clark will serve as the arena director. Dance competitions will be led by Head Man Michael Muckelvaney and Head Lady Sierra Russell.

Event highlights include:
- Over 40 vendors offering educational demonstrations, crafts, and food, including Indian Tacos from Lowcountry Frybread
- A children's area with face painting, sweets, mobile gaming, and jump castles. Don’t miss Charlie the River Dog from 11 am to noon!
- Marsh Tacky horse exhibition by tribal member John Speissegger, who will educate the public on this unique breed’s historical ties to the tribe, along with offering rides.
- Award-winning basket maker Nancy Basket demonstrating her Kudzu basketry and art.
- Master Catawba Potter Keith “Little Bear” Brown demonstrating Native pottery traditions.
- Candace Richardson, a featured author and Cherokee language advocate, showcasing her children's books.
- Cathy Nelson performing Native American flute songs from 11 am to noon.

Grand Entry will take place at noon, featuring tribal leaders from across the state.

Be sure to also check out the temporary Catawba Pottery exhibit inside the Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center, on loan from USC Lancaster’s Native American Studies Center for the Powwow.
