Walked out the door of 1935 w north ave today for the final time. Hard to believe i moved Asrai into this location 22 years ago on my birthday wondering how i would keep the doors of this business open after needing to move out of the large beautiful space i had originally opened in because rent almost doubled and i could not keep up.

This space has held my highest highs and lowest lows and about a million moments in between.

It’s fitting that the last bouquet i made in here on the day we closed almost a month ago was for my dear friend , the day that she was attacked while working here was the single worst day in my memory. thank god she is tougher than s**t and not only fought her way through but fought to come back and reclaim this space and we got to work side by side for more years. she is simply one of the best humans of all time and i’m so grateful because my life would not be the same without her in it.

early this morning in this empty room i made two final bouquets for my favorite client/ friend who now feels like family . it would have been she & anniversary today and it seems fitting that he somehow got the last word because he introduced so many people to asrai and expanded my life in many ways.

this place raised me, these walls held everything my life was for almost 25 years and while it feels unimaginable to say goodbye it’s time to move on.

I will keep posting here from time to time, giving you all updates on the asrai faces you love and how to support their new endeavors & find them out in the world. i will bring updates about the makers we worked with throughout the years and any fun new one off collaborations
we cook up together.

I will also post here about my new baby store opening this summer in mine & new hometown Taos NM.

Our beloved flower sign, the first item purchased for Asrai Garden in 1999, is up for auction!

Bidding starts at $800

The auction will run till 10am this Wednesday, the 27th.
