CHRISTMAS ON THE MARKET (& Parade) IS TOMORROW Starting at 7PM!! Come one, come all!!!

Tomorrow is the day! Here is some helpful information for the Christmas Parade (7 p.m.) and Christmas at the Market (4-9 p.m.), and don't forget we'll be lighting the Tree of Hope on Town Square at 6:55 p.m. You can find more information, including a schedule of road closures, by visiting http://www.christiansburg.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1364.

Two more days!! Getting VERY EXCITED!!!

In our efforts to make the DCI Chowdown Downtown Food Truck Rodeo the premier food truck festival in Southwest Virginia, our board and planning committee is always looking for ways to improve the festival from year to year.

We have been hard at work to bring new elements to this year's event and respond to feedback we have gotten from residents.

So here are some great new additions to this year's Food Truck Rodeo, highlighted on the map found below:

1) Larger Footprint - as the festival continues to grow year in and year out, more space was needed to accommodate growth. We worked to grow the festival footprint by expanding both eastward and westward on Main Street. We've also worked to better utilize side streets and parking areas in downtown.

2) More Seating Options - to us, the Food Truck Rodeo isn't just about food and music, it's about coming together as a community to talk and share stories. This year, we are introducing our Community Table, a series of seating areas on Hickok Street to encourage discussion and fellowship among the members of our community. The Community Table joins the Eatin' Tent on Main Street and seating near the larger stage area to provide needed space for folks to rest and enjoy the evening.

3) More Parking - we understand that while there is ample parking throughout downtown, it isn't often well marked or publicized. That's why we've worked with local property owners to ensure parking is available near the festival grounds. Please consult the map to see the available parking areas off College and First Streets. Please note the addition of designated handicapped parking off Commerce Street for our guests with mobility challenges. These parking options add to the available parking in Town owned lots near Town Hall and public lots near the Montgomery County Courthouse.

4) MORE TRUCKS! This year's lineup includes the most trucks of any of our Food Truck Rodeos. The increased number of trucks will increase the variety and availability of food for our patrons. We are so excited to welcome back old and new trucks to this year's event.

For anybody curious about the inclement weather coming in tomorrow evening (rainy and chilly) and the facilities at Sinkland Farms Wine & Beer Festival, they said that they will have structures available if it rains. So, don't get stressed about having to stand out in the rain, and head out to Sinkland Farms for their first Wine & Beer Festival tomorrow!! It starts at 4!!

SINKLAND FARMS WINE & BEER FESTIVAL

APRIL 25TH!!! Shared to our page by Sinkland Farms:
Sinkland Farms links with IDA and Feeding America to promote "Drink Local, Eat Local, Buy Local", the perfect theme for blending great music with Virginia's best craft beers and unique wine blends.
The Sinkland Farms Wine & Beer Festival is scheduled for April 25 with a vibe you can feel for those in search of a good time, music, craft beer and wine. Scheduled 4 pm to 9 pm, you can sip on Virginia's classics and also find a new favorite at the fest. Tickets: $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
Set to rock the farm, two styles of music--jam and bluegrass--will be featured with six of the region’s best bands. Jam Bands playing are Lazy Man Dub Band, Nice Couch and The Fat Catz. The Bluegrass/Country band line up include Deer Run Drifters, Half Throttle and Java Brothers.
Special Virginia Craft Beer sales feature:

The festival will benefit the Intellectual Disabilities Agency of the New River Valley (IDANRV) and Feeding America. Please assist Feeding America on April 25 by bringing non-perishable food donations—One in 6 Americans deal with hunger every day. All food donations will serve the New River Valley community immediately.
