The Gates open at 5pm and the News Channel 13 Parade of Floats starts promptly at 9pm. So get your Mardi on and get ready to catch some beads from over 30 Mardi Gras floats! The live entertainment lineup for the 2013 Cocoa Village Mardi Gras includes headliner - The Soul Rebels Brass Band. The Soul Rebels are a contemporary eight-piece brass ensemble from New Orleans, Louisiana. They incorporate e

lements of soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock and pop music within a contemporary brass band framework. The band grew from their New Orleans brass style out of original members Lumar LeBlanc and Derrick Moss’s shared desire to play the music they heard on the radio but with respect to the New Orleans brass band tradition. The Soul Rebels Brass Band has collaborated live with acts such as Metallica, Green Day, Maceo Parker, Galactic, Slick Rick, Trombone Shorty, Suzanne Vega and David A. They have also been billed on shows with Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Alabama Shakes, Estelle, Cee Lo Green and Arcade Fire among others. The Soul Rebels will perform live at Cocoa Village Mardi Gras on Saturday, February 9, 2013 on the CH2M Hill Stage immediately after the Central Florida News Channel 13 Parade of Floats at 10:00pm. Event tickets are on sale now. Adult admission is $8/advance and $12/day of. Children 12 and under are $5/advance and $8/day of.
