I cried so many tears of joy for this one today. Lindsey is one of the reasons I have lived life so fully these last ten years in Colorado.
Watching friends tie the knot, shout their love from mountain tops and get married outside in the dead of winter are just a few of my favorite things and a few of my favorite things about this friend. I’ll be reflecting on this year soon but for today, I’ll be dwelling on L&P’s family uniting! What a way to end the year! ✨

Of course there is always love at weddings …. but yesterday, man … there was a tangible electric excitement in the air. It’s so evident that C & E were created to love each other. I feel so privileged to have played a part in their magical day.

This last weekend we had the extreme joy of hosting our friends wedding on our family owned property in Black Forest. The day was filled with miracles (even though I had anxiety about the weather), tender moments and sooo much dancing!
While we love the planning and details behind a wedding day, it’s really the people that make this business worth pursuing. The love this community showed up with to celebrate J&J was tangible … it’s probably the most love any front yard has ever seen.

Grateful. Tired.
When I stepped into Flourish full time this January I took on four part time “gigs” … Honestly I wasn’t completely sure if I would be able to make this side hustle a full hustle but I knew I needed to try. Somewhere around March I had booked over sixty events and was still doing all the side stuff. C sat me down and forced me to look at the calendar- “you’re doing it” he said and then he added, “something gotta give.”
I wrapped up all my side hustles by the end of June just in time to jump into 4-wedding weeks and complete celebration-structured-chaos. It has been the coolest thing to see this business flourish, but also the craziest year to jump into this industry. You’ve probably seen vendors posting about it, but it’s true when we say we are squeezing two years into one. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday weddings? Sure. Why not? Rehearsals in the middle of the day in the middle of the week - on that day that was supposed to be my one day to breath? Sure.
I’m not here to complain. I’m really just here to say thanks for your grace as I navigate this job, these celebrations and this crazy 2-in-1 year.

It takes a village …

That’s you. You’ve helped us fundraise, you’ve encouraged and excitedly prayed and anticipated our kids alongside us as we’ve shared our adoption journey with you.

It’s finally here! We’ve saved the last three years and are just a few thousand dollars away from having our first adoption fully funded. This year for my 31st birthday I’m asking if you would consider helping us make it to “fully funded” ! Can you imagine?!?

If you feel excited to play a tangible part in our journey or just want to get me a super rad birthday gift (motherhood) we’ve created a final fundraising page where any donations will go directly towards completing our goal of fully fundraising this adoption.

Sometimes I get to be part of really pretty days .. okay actually that’s like the day-to-day reality around here and man, I’m not complaining about it. This shoot was such a fun collaborative + creative effort by some of my absolute favorite vendors around.

Adam brought his “show pony” boots to this shoot, but we opted out for his real work boots.
If you’d have asked me if I planned to spend most of my weekends hosting rustic weddings, I would have laughed. I’m from a little town, population … probably more cows than people. I spent a good portion of my 20’s moving from big city to big city but landed in CO, the best happy in-between I didn’t even know I needed. While “country” vibes aren’t totally my thing, I had so much fun dreaming up these details with the most incredible vendor team!

Did you know we’re a preferred vendor/family fav at multiple venues around Colorado Springs?
It’s always fun to switch up venues, but there’s this feeling of being at home when we get to return to a space we’ve hosted and coordinated at before. is one of our local favs. Not only have they thought through so many details to streamline your day, they’re budget conscious and flexible with so many incredible vendors. Catch us (yes! our team is growing!) at Hearth House more this year as we help manage events and provide full coordination packages.
We’re so excited to have a consistent presence in this beautiful venue (and we can’t wait to smile at you without masks - someday!)

We know we’re biased but we genuinely believe your venue is looking out for you! While it may seem like an extra expense we’re here to bring your vision to life by making sure that every element of your day actually happens! Our job is to care about the little details and to help host and cultivate the big picture atmosphere of your event.
Having a team to bring together all your vendors and vision is a worthy investment and no, it doesn’t have to cost “an arm and a leg.”

It has been 40 days since I said “buh-byye” to social work and “helloooo” to doing this dream full time.
Some of you think I’m crazy... “quit a perfectly good job to plan events in a global pandemic - what are you doing?!”
To be honest, I don’t disagree with you. It is crazy. However the peace I have in this season and the trust I’m putting in God is on a whole new level- hands open, I’m trusting that this is what Jesus has for me, and friends... He has me here! I’ve booked more events than days I’ve worked for myself and this is just the beginning.
I’m not saying do something crazy ... but maybe, just maybe listen to the still voice in your heart and follow that dream ✨
