For those of you that don’t know the story behind why we host pop-up markets at @thelenzstudio - a photography studio & event space, here’s how it goes…
I have shopped from small businesses for nearly 7+ years. My daughter & I would hit all of the Charlotte area and South End pop-up markets and fill our house & our closets with all of our favorite finds!
In the beginning of 2022, my daughter decided to pursue one of her career dreams & became a small business owner herself! She opened an online clothing boutique while still in college (shout out @shopasterboutique ) She would drive home often so that we could set-up at pop-up events all around Charlotte. Through that we met so many other amazing small business owners!
In January of 2023, I decide to take my own leap & open a photography studio in Downtown Concord. (Funny part is I am not a professional photographer, but that’s a story for another day). As I was waiting for the photography bookings to come in, I realized I had this beautiful space that was sitting unused on the weekends and decided to reach out to other small business owners we had met and invite them out to be a part of our first @shoplocalatthelenz pop-up market! My goal is to share these small businesses with as many people as we can reach! And to bring more visitors to Downtown Concord - and support its merchants, most all of which are family or independently owned as well!
We have endured the streetscape project of @concorddowntown since two days before our first pop-up in February. And our pop-up events have grown!! We can’t wait for the finished product - it is going to be beautiful downtown!
