Even if you didn't know about dirt track racing. You knew about Scott. He was the kind of person that transcended sport.

In conversation with non racing fans or casual NASCAR on Sunday kind of fans, when you mentioned dirt track racing, they didn't know what it was. But if you said Bloomquist, they knew. They knew the legend. They knew the stories.

"He's the alien guy with the awesome hair right?" He was one of a kind. He was everyone's friend and he kicked everyone's ass more times than not.

I was fortunate enough to photograph him over the years while on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series tour. It's hard to imagine a personality so grand is now gone from this earth. As tragic and early that his passing is, I have to imagine he wouldn't have wanted to leave any other way than on his own terms, doing something that he loved.

I'll miss working with Scott, from headshots to New Year's Eve FaceTimes. He was an incredible person, client, and friend.
