STORY TIME:

A lot of people ask us, "where do you find your entertainment for these events?" so we wanted to take a moment and explain the hilarious journey that led us to finding our next act, Winnie Cooper - 90's to Now Pop & Rock Party.

It all started one rainy night, when 80's icon Corey Feldman came to town. As you can imagine, the Dole staff geared up, bought front row tickets(because why not?) and made our trek to the venue. We sat and waited for the show to start, a show that had a last minute opening act-our Winnie Cooper.

As we waited sipping cocktails, we were approached by who we later discovered to be the guitarist's sister, who insisted, INTENSELY, that our director of community engagement was, in fact, supposed to be on stage as the drummer. Having no experience or musical talent whatsoever, he was entirely not prepared to play drums this evening.

Confusion and hilarity ensued, until the misunderstanding was cleared up and we all laughed. But WHY would she have made that mistake? Certainly, she had to know what he looked like?

Fast forward to meeting the band - the first 2 pictures below are separate people, then them side by side later, laughing hysterically about the mix up. It was an amazing time for everyone, and the Dole staff got the chance to meet some of the coolest, most talented people we know!

We are excited to now be hosting these amazing musicians Thursday 9/24 here at The Dole (and hopefully many more times after that)

BONUS: At this show, the bass player for Corey Feldman used to be an actor, he was known for playing the older brother of the character Winnie Cooper from the Wonder Years 🤯 totally unplanned coincidence (also including that in the picture, and one of the Dole staff and Corey just for fun)

Despite the heat and some technical difficulties with the band sound, last night was a great time!
