There are so many opportunities when you go to the country from hay fields to dirt roads to barns to farm equipment the ideas kept popping in my head as we drove around looking for the location. Paul and Dess traveled to KY for their one-year anniversary. Paul had discovered me through my photography work and surprised his wife with a weekend getaway at Ashord Acres. He had made all the arrangements, including seven dresses for her to choose from and a nail appointment. I had a great time working with them.

It’s been a while since I did a newborn session. This little baby had a rough start and we didn’t get to do her pictures until a month old. I think she did a great job.

I had so much fun capturing Hailey’s senior photo session. Fall in Kentucky is the best time of the year to capture the beauty of the outdoors. Traveling the backroads is my favorite thing to do. We went to several different locations during her two hour session which also included multiple outfit changes.

How it all happened….. Josh sent me a message a few weeks ago asking if I was still doing photography. He said that his girlfriend Ashley loves my work and that he was going to propose to her at Castle and Key her favorite distillery and wanted me to take the photos. He told me the date he had chosen which was a Saturday and I was available. He contact castle and key but they had a wedding booked that day. I then said that I was available that Friday and he said let’s book it. We talked back and forth between messages planning it all out. I arrived 15 prior to them to get my camera setting set up and to hide from Ashley. The plan was for Ashley to think they were going on a tour of the distillery and that they were late for it. While the employee was acting like she was looking for their tour group Josh asked her to take a selfie. She was setting the phones up on the steps she had her back to me Josh was down on one knee and as I’m approaching them she turns around and tells him to get up. So he stands up and repositions and when she turns back around she is in utter shock. I keep her omg, wth, holy sh*t…..then finally a yes!!!! The tour group was off watching in the distance they all clapped and shouted congratulations. As I walked up to congratulate them Ashley couldn’t believe that it was me and that Josh had planned all this. The distillery gave them an ornament and a bottle of champagne as a gift. We walked around took photos. At five o’clock there was another surprise it was a limo to pick them up for dinner. Everything turned out perfectly and they are now ready to start planning a wedding
