That could be part of the reason why we are so excited to host Tea Gypsy this month, bringing a super cool and unique experience here to Driftwood. It’s a sister owned business that hosts high tea pop up events, transforming a casual girls lunch into something truly magical.

Let me paint a picture for ya 🖼️

A coffee shop. Not the kind you pop into quickly, but the kind that makes you want to take a seat and stay awhile. The kind that allows you to sink into the green velvet couch and read a few pages of your newest book before a stranger sits in the chair nearest you and strikes up a conversation.
You both overhear the barista mention to a customer that there is an acoustic live music show later than evening, and since you have no agenda that day, you decide to ask your new friend if she wants wants to check it out with you. You exchange numbers, agree to meet up that evening and say your goodbyes. Before you head out, the community message board catches your eye and you see that there is no shortage of cool events in the upcoming weeks.
A book club? A full moon night market next weekend? A human design workshop on the first of the month? A benefit concert for a local non profit? Freaking whiskey tasting?!! (In this story you love whiskey, duh🥃)
This place suddenly has all of your interest. This giant red barn just got a lot more interesting didn’t she?
As you head outside, back to your car, you hear something going on in the side yard and decide to peek around the corner to check it out…. And what do you see? Well, it appears to be a yoga class. Because of course.
“What is this place??” you wonder to yourself.
Well, it’s a place that I hope has a little something for everyone.
Music. Workshops. Coffee. Books. Yoga… the options are endless but they all have something in common; their ability to bring people together. Because THAT is the ultimate goal of this space. THAT is the heart and intention we are putting into Celestial Vista. Hope to see you soon.

A name matters.

I’m one of those people who obsesses over the beauty of naming things; events I’ve held, things I’ve created, and now I can add event spaces/coffee shops to the list.

The name is like a clear introduction to the INTENTION behind whatever it is you’re creating. And the meaning behind Sonder is literal perfection because it speaks to the complexity and inner connectedness of life.

Do I have to be so deep and intentional about everything?? No. Do I enjoy it though? Yes I really do.

In this fast paced world we are constantly putting our heads down, into our phones, focusing on ourselves… I want to do my part to be a gentle reminder to pause, look up, and really see the people and beauty around you. I want Sonder to be a space that encourages you to slow down as you sip your coffee, say hi to a stranger, learn about them, and possibly make a new friend or connection that you didn’t have before you walked through our doors.
Sonder will simply present that opportunity, but you get to decide what you do with it ✨

Heavenly view✨✨

Many of you might think you know where the name for Celestial Vista came from… After all we live in a beautiful, dark sky community, where the stars can be seen in the most ethereal way. Most of you don’t know, there’s actually more to the story than that.

When my mother-in-law came to end of her battle with cancer, my hippie ass went to her one day, and told her that I wanted a codeword. I explained that after she passed, I was going to go to the medium to see if I could find her on the other side. 🔮 My mother-in-law, being the devout Mormon woman she was, laughed at me and told me that wouldn’t work… Before she added “well just in case…. Celestial.” She didn’t even hesitate on coming up with that word. Oddly enough, after she passed away I began to see it everywhere! And I did indeed talk to a medium, who gave me the word. (I knew it would work)
So celestial quickly became a word with a big meaning; a symbol of just how interconnected everything in life is and that there might be more to it than we realize. A reminder that time should be spent with those we love, doing what we love. Celestial is a nudge from the universe that life was meant to be magical and a little mysterious because that’s what makes this human experience an adventure.
Taking over this barn isn’t just about creating an event venue in an area filled with options. It wasn’t about weddings or how much money we could make. It wasn’t even about opportunity. Our vision for Celestial Vista is about creating a space that encourages connection amongst patrons. We want to hold events that mean something; moments that deepen our sense of community. I imagine retreats and workshops that are safe spaces for growth and self discovery. I see friendships being made in the coffee shop, yoga in the side yard, and dreams being realized through live music performances.
In our fast paced and rapidly growing area, I hope Celestial Vista builds a name as a space that helps us to slow down and remember just how magical this life was meant to be ✨🌙

THANK YOU!!!

Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who donated to the giving tree this year for the Burke Center. This was our first year doing this and I was nervous I might not find enough people who wanted to take a tag and donate but you guys went above and beyond and I ended up with more people willing to donate than we needed. We will def do it again next year 🎄🎁

New beginnings ✨

There is something so magical about a fresh start. New dreams, new goals, new seasons of life… the possibilities are endless, and the hope of what’s to come is inspiring.

We live in a world obsessed with how quickly we can create our own success, and sometimes I think we forget to enjoy the beginning of the journey. So much magic can be found at the start of something new and if we don’t take a moment to appreciate it, we risk missing it all together.
Here at Celestial Vista we are gearing up to make some incredible things happen; opportunities for more connection in an area that’s growing so quickly. A driving force behind this space is our desire to bring people together and create a deeper sense of community in this place we feel lucky to call home. And while my dreamy brain can’t help but see the big picture of what we hope Celestial Vista will be, I have to remind myself to stay grounded in the present while being excited for what is to come.
Winter Solstice, a new moon, AND Capricorn season (just call me your new hippie best friend 😉) felt like the perfect moment for a little reflection, maybe even a reminder, on just how magical new beginnings can be 🌙

Our first giving tree 🎄🎅🏾🎁

Hosting a giving tree- or angel tree as some like to call it- was something I knew I was gonna want to do at Celestial Vista. Realistically, I wasn’t sure if I would have enough time to pull it together to do it this year, but here we are 🥹🥹
We partnered with the Burke Center for Youth here in Driftwood so we could help do some good and make a positive impact for the youth they support. You can come take a tag, do a little shopping, and drop the gifts off to us so that we can load them all up to deliver.
