To my family & friends who were supporting the Junior League of Greater Springfield for our 3rd annual 5K this weekend:
Many of you are now aware that, due to unfortunate and unexpected circumstances with the company who was helping us organize the race, it became necessary that we postpone this event.

Many of you have indicated that you have diapers to donate and other amazing contributions to make to the JLGS... please hang on to them, or let me know if you need for me to pick them up from you!

This incredible group of women is working diligently to pivot to a fabulous race event next month (date to be announced soon!). We appreciate you all so much for your patience as we navigate this unexpected transition and our hearts go out to the MANY other local charities and non profit organizations who have been affected by this turn of events. Thank you for always supporting us as we try our best to better our amazing community!

We are a few days into the New Year and reflecting on our many blessings. We closed it out with the fabulous annual Christina's House Gala at the The Log Cabin in December. Check out some of the amazing photos from Hannah Marie of this spectacular event!

-->The Building Bridges conference for early childhood educators in Springfield was a smashing success last month! We had the absolute pleasure of working with Reading Success by 4th Grade and countless others to make that happen.

WE are the new faces of MRC! This venue is incredibly special to us, and we have great vision for enhancing it.

My social media game is, admittedly, not always strong, especially in recent days.
That said, it has been weighing heavy on my heart that I took the time to post on IG the other day, but that I didn't make the time to make a statement on this platform.
Let me be very clear. Events by Jackie M does not and will not tolerate racism, in any form. We will not tolerate any of the "isms", but that is a conversation for a different time. We will not stand for racism with our clients, our professional partners, the communities we serve, or in our own personal lives.
Right now, and every day moving forward, we must focus our efforts on listening, learning, and demonstrating a value for human life and decency.
We must be the driving force for change. We must be kinder. We must do better.

In light of so many spring & summer events being postponed or cancelled, we find ourselves focusing on what we can do to make a positive impact in our communities.

I am so proud to be a member of the Junior League of Greater Springfield, especially during these trying times.
Together, we have been finding way to support our community partners, and we could use your help!

The JLGS is in the process of assembling kits for foster children and families in need. We've been able to provide meals and some much needed items to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut & Western Massachusetts.
And of course, we are also seeking various ways to support our front line workers through this.

We remain calm and optimistic. Our goal is to provide you with a seamless event when it is deemed safe to do so. This may mean that your event won't look exactly like what you thought from the start. It many cases it will look different, and possibly even better. Our intention is to make sure your event is as meaningful and successful as possible, no matter what.

Oooh just one more week until Christmas Eve, one of our FAVORITE days of the year!!
Are you looking for the perfect cocktail to serve at your holiday party?
Look no further! Your guests will LOVE these Snowflake Martinis! We usually serve these up with sugar cookies but our gingerbread friend couldn't help taking a swim!

SNOWFLAKE MARTINIS

Ingredients:
1.5oz Vanilla Vodka
1oz Amaretto
1oz Baileys5oz Coconut Milk (for a creamier, more indulgent drink, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream here instead!)
Directions:
Rim a martini glass with vanilla frosting and roll in your favorite holiday sprinkles
Pour ingredients over ice in a shaker. Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds and pour into glass.

We get to do a lot of fun things with this job but one of our favorite events, by far, is the Cookies & Milk With Santa And Mrs. Claus event at Pete's Sweets every December!
This year Santa had more than 400 visitors and we collected over 500 toys to donate to Baystate Children's Hospital!
Thank you to Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Pete for elfing around with us and hosting another successful event!

Cheers to Friday!!
We had such fun with Pete's Sweets, Michael's Party Rentals, and Brooke Ellen Photography a few weeks back creating magical cookie/cocktail combos.

Check out our recipe for a holiday margarita, below. This pairs beautifully with a yummy & spicy gingerbread cookie!

Ingredients:
2oz Silver or Blanco Tequila
1oz Grand Marnier or Cointreau5oz Coconut milk5oz simple syrup or agave
Squeeze of fresh lime (about ½ lime)
Squeeze of fresh orange juice (about ¼ orange)

Instructions:
Rim a rocks or margarita glass with your choice of a cinnamon/sugar, colored sugar, or just good old fashioned salt!
Pour ingredients over ice in a shaker- shake really well and strain over fresh ice in rimmed glass.
(You may also blend with ice if you prefer a frozen margarita.)
Garnish with lime wedge, orange wedge, and/or cranberries for a festive look! Enjoy!
