A good read

Little Poem For Seniors, so true it hurts!
Another year has passed
And we're all a little older.
Last summer felt hotter
And winter seems much colder.
There was a time not long ago
When life was quite a blast.
Now I fully understand
About 'Living in the Past'
We used to go to weddings,
Football games and lunches..
Now we go to funeral homes
And after-funeral brunches.
We used to go out dining,
And couldn't get our fill.
Now we ask for doggie bags,
Come home and take a pill.
We used to often travel
To places near and far.
Now we get sore asses
From riding in the car.
We used to go to nightclubs
And drink a little booze.
Now we stay home at night
And watch the evening news.
That, my friend is how life is,
And now my tale is told.
So, enjoy each day and live it up...
Before you're too damned old!
P.S.Yes, I am thankful to live till I'm this old ...and really thankful I can laugh about it..😊

"Shout out to this wonderful, kind woman named Tiffany. my 2-year-old and 2-month-old were both having a meltdown at the same time in Target. I started putting things away on the shelf and was about to leave when she came over to help. She walked with me while I got the essentials needed for the day and kept hold of my toddler while he calmed down. She saved me today Mom!!! I am so sleep-deprived and was running on empty. A little kindness and understanding go a long way. I'll definitely be paying it forward if I see a poor mom in need of help. Thanks, Tiffany, you're an angel 😇"

Powerful.. Joshua Dyer (aged 14) was tasked at school to write a poem for Remembrance Day. An hour later (without any help) he produced this..

ONE THOUSAND MEN ARE WALKING
One thousand men are walking
Walking side by side
Singing songs from home
The spirit as their guide

They walk toward the light milord,
they walk towards the sun
they smoke and laugh and smile together
no foes to outrun.

These men live on forever
in the hearts of those they saved
a nation truly grateful
for the path of peace they paved.

They march as friends and comrades
but they do not march for war
step closer to salvation
a tranquil steady corps
the meadows lit with golden beams
a beacon for the brave
the emerald grass untrampled
a reward for what they gave.

They dream of those they left behind
and know they dream of them
forever in those poppy fields
there walks one thousand men
