Katie Buckler knows that everyone loves to look and feel beautiful.
“I want to help brides feel fabulous
on their special day,” she said. “My favorite thing is helping the bride.”
When she opened Eternal Elegance Bridal, 261 S. Wisconsin Ave., March 1, Buckler was keeping a vow of her own.
“I turned 30 Jan. 1,” she said. “When I was younger, I made a promise to myself that by 30, I would be doing what I really wanted to do. But I have always wanted to do this part.”
Eternal Elegance features new and gently used wedding gowns, bridesmaid’s dresses, “special occasion” dresses, accessories like veils and tiaras and tuxedo rentals.
“I work with up to eight designers,” Buckler said. “I keep up with all of the new lines that come in. And I can special order from almost all designers.”
Buckler said she has always enjoyed fashion and pretty clothes.
“When I was a little girl I love playing dress-up with my sister,” she said. “I would design outfits and make her try them on and model them —she hated it!”
Now, Buckler will assist her willing customers with their dresses and she will also refer them to others who can help create a memorable event.
“I have a large selection of vendors including caterers, venues, photographers, florists, musicians and alterations,” she said. Buckler said she is filling a niche in Ga***rd, noting that for the last several years, brides have had to travel to Alpena, Petoskey or Traverse City to shop for dresses.
“My goal is to touch not only brides and bridesmaids, but prom and Homecoming girls and Extreevaganza women,” she said. “And in the future, I plan to carry a full line of mens' suits and accessories too.”
Buckler is confident that her customers at Eternal Elegance Bridal will find the perfect dress — and the customer service — they are looking for.
“My goal is to make everyone feel special, whether your budget is large or small,” she said. Buckler noted the Ga***rd Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, to “officially” welcome Eternal Elegance Bridal to the community. The business is located at 261 S. Wisconsin Ave, and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. It is closed on Tuesday and Sunday. For more information, call (989) 748-9377 or email [email protected]
