It’s month 4 of the ! November’s theme is Cancer Support and will be led by Lauren A. (), our Relationship Manager and one of our amazing Hip-Hop Yoga instructors!

Throughout the month, Lauren will be sharing a bit about why this cause is so important to her, and we’ll be participating in a couple of events to help raise funds for cancer research and support! 💜

Hey GVL 👋 Vendor applications are officially open for our 7th Annual Holiday Market!

This year’s market will be on November 24th from 1-4PM on the Junction Lawn (301 Airport Road) in GVL, near the downtown airport! This is an outdoor market, located just off the Swamp Rabbit Trail.

Every year we enjoy this opportunity to highlight local small businesses and crafters in our community. If you’re interested in participating, we invite you to send in an application at the link in our bio. If you know a creator or business owner who should definitely be there, tag them in the comments!

Today, I visited Western North Carolina to pass out food to people impacted by Hurricane Helene. As devastating as the photos and videos have been, it’s hard to fully grasp the extent of the damage and loss until you see it for yourself.

My heart breaks for the thousands of people, barely an hour away from here, that have lost so much, and whose lives won’t be normal again for the foreseable future.

This Saturday @ 10AM, we’ll be hosting a community yoga class on The Junction lawn. We’ll be collecting donations to take up to WNC to provide relief to our neighbors at the event. Katie, our OG yogi, is back from leave, and she’s ready to lead you through a mindful hour of yoga that will also do some good for the community.

This class is free to attend–we only ask that you bring an item or two for us to pass along to our neighbors in WNC. The option to donate money will also be available. Every little bit helps. 🫶🏼

Some donation ideas:

- Flash lights & solar powered lanterns
- Batteries
- Zip lock bags
- Diapers and pull-ups (adult and child sizes)
- Warm clothing and blankets
- Sterno burners
- Water (jugs are ideal so they can be reused/refilled)
- Hydration packets
- Shoes
- Sheets/blankets/pillows/sleeping bags
- Baby formula
- Pet food
- Cleaning supplies
- Can openers
- Hygiene items
- Menstrual products

Hey GVL 👋

We have had a couple of schedule changes for the week: this is the most up-to-date version of our weekly schedule!

We’re excited to have power back on in the studio so we can keep dancing, burning, and flowing with you!

Don’t miss Milena’s $7 V***n Community Class on Wednesday, available in studio only!

On Saturday, Katie E. is back to with an outdoor yoga class on the Junction lawn! We have missed her so much these past couple months (she was busy welcoming a brand new baby yogi into the world!), and we can’t wait to flow together again! 🧘‍♀️ Class is free, and we’ll be accepting more donations for Hurricane Helene relief. Stay tuned for updated donation needs as we monitor the latest information!

October’s was originally going to be about the power of reading, but in the wake of Hurricane Helene and its effects on our local community and the surrounding areas, we will be pivoting to a theme of disaster relief!

Yesterday, dozens of you showed up to dance with us at for our first donation class, and today we dropped off your generous donations at to be flown into Western North Carolina.

Our next donation class is currently scheduled for 10/12. Please continue to follow along on social media for updated lists of needs.

Throughout the month, we will also be amplifying other recovery efforts on our social media pages, including outreach for the upstate and North Carolina.

BTW – We DO have power back at the studio! ⚡️ We have missed you all so much over the past week, and we are excited to get back to our regularly scheduled classes. Thank you all for your patience and flexibility as we had to adjust our schedule over the past few days. If you are still without power, feel free to bring your devices along to charge at the studio during class–we will share all the outlets we can!

MONDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE:

We are still without power at the studio, but we are going to move forward as best we can until electricity is restored. We have made some tweaks to our schedule:

MONDAY 9/30:

- We will not be having Club or V***n at the studio since we cannot use the big speakers. Instead, Tiffany will be leading a Burn/Yoga Mashup . Don’t worry, we WILL have music and good vibes 😊

- Virtual ClubADF w/ Brandon will now be FREE instead of $5. If you have an internet connection, we invite you to stream from home! 🫶

TUESDAY 10/1:
- ADF Burn w/ Lauren has been moved from 6AM to 9AM so that we can use the daylight.

We are hopeful that power will be restored to the Junction soon. In the meantime, we will continue to take things a day at a time. We will post updates regularly here, so keep checking back!

Things are really hard right now, and we will do our best to keep providing a space where people can leave their troubles at the door for an hour of their day. We have been so touched by how the GVL community has stepped up to support one another in whatever capacity they are able to. We are working on other ways that our ADF community can provide relief to those affected by Hurricane Helene. Continue to check back here for updates.

🫶🏼 Hey GVL! We hope everyone is staying safe out there, and we are sending lots of love and positivity to everyone affected by Hurricane Helene across the upstate and beyond.

A couple of updates for you:

• Power is still out, and our 10AM Zumba class on Sunday morning is canceled. We WILL, however, be having our 4 PM Burn class, with or without electricity! ⚡️ If you are itching to get out of the house and move your body, we will be here! Since we don't have WiFi and phone data has been super unstable, we will not be live streaming the class.

• We had planned to meet up at 2PM on Sunday to pack snack bags for , but we have decided to postpone. We will extend food collections through next week.

We will continue to provide updates as we have them. We miss you all and can't wait to see you soon!

Throughout this week, we’ll be collecting snack items (crackers, chips, cookies, granola bars, protein bars, pop-top Vienna sausages, etc) to share with the homeless community in GVL.

You can help by dropping snacks off at the studio, or by helping us pack and organize the bags on Sunday before Lauren’s 4PM Burn class! We will be there starting at 2PM!

This is our last volunteer opportunity for the month, so let’s really put our hearts into it! 🫶
