Veasey Memorial Park is a 47.5 acre park, owned by the town of Groveland and managed by the Conservation Commission. All the revenue generated at Veasey goes back into the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds and buildings. Veasey's function rooms are open year round. The historical building offers spaces available to rent out for various types of events ranging from weddings to community meeting

s. Veasey park is also home to Groveland's favorite sledding hill, affectionately known as "Nun's Hill." Several trails are available for public use. Non motorized boating and fishing are allowed on the Johnson's pond, the 80 acre adjoining body of water visible from the trails. The park is open from dusk until dawn. Tours to see the facility are set up by appointment.

Vanessa takes a walk along a path of cardboard to show the progress in the rewilding project that Dianne Plantamura and the MA Master Gardeners, have accomplished so far. Two paths connect at a gathering space for education and connection while the current empty space will be densely filled with 100s of trees that will be planted in the spring via the Miyawaki method. Check the article in the comments to learn about a similar teaching forest that’s already been planted in Cambridge.

Butterfly Bonanza is still happening from 2-4pm!!! Join artist Jenn Houle and the Veasey Park crew for an afternoon of fun. All ages welcome. (If you’ve been to one of our events, you’ll know Vanessa makes the grown ups paint too!) If it’s not raining, we will start outside. Look for the butterfly field next to the biggest parking lot along our driveway. Activities will be held indoors in the Mill Rooms. If you missed out on the group paint and take home kits, you have one more chance to paint today!
