It’s been wonderful to be able to gift them weekly to my wonderful mother in law.

I know they are there to bring peace.

Freeze warning!

If you want to keep your dahlias then You must cover them completely!

You can also let mother nature takes it course! That’s what we do.

I will be harvesting the last (sad looking) dahlias today.

If we have a freeze, then we are truly done.

I have been harvesting some little bouquets here and there that came back after hurricane, but ultimately we have been done for a few weeks.

OCTOBER IS HERE!

My favorite month of the year!!

No need for new wreath this year. I made this dandy last year.

I’m ready for hay rides, pumpkins, homemade soups, bon fires, the smells, cozy days and cool nights. I love rainy days and cancelled plans. I love weekends with family and friends, football, food and 💯 cotton pjs. Crunchy leaves, small wrapped boxes on my birthday and music to dance too. I long to paint on canvas and create! Settle in and read a good book or rearrange my furniture to make it all new again. Flea markets, vintage finds and pjs! Did I mention how much I love to stay in pajamas?

Bring it on!!!!! I’m here for it all this fall!

Clean up continues. Wagons and wagons full of dahlias that the wind took down. Insane. Can’t imagine what the hurricane victims are going through.

Enjoying flowers that I harvested during our season.

The colors are so bright and beautiful.

It’s one way to keep the flowers alive even though the hurricane took most (not all) away to early this year.

Flashback to 5 years ago when I had time to do arrangements!

I prefer to grow specialty cut flowers and sell them. I enjoy u picks, private events and our CSA.

I try once a year to make an arrangement for myself!

I will post if I get to that this season. Till then, enjoy this one I did for myself years ago!

Work is never done on the flower farm. Digging up and dividing dahlia tubers. It is my least favorite job, but the flowers you get from them are totally worth the work. Yes, they look like potatoes. One tuber can produce 5, 10, 15 more tubers to be planted the next year.
