Facilities (You know - the Water Closets)
Duffy's may be able to help us out in this department but the Hatfield Market & Diner right across the street has agreed to allow us to use their restroom. They only have one so don't plan on bringing the National Enquirer magazine. The Course
A mostly square 12 mile course over fairly smooth county roads with very little traffic. Detailed course information is available here. SAG
Although we will have a couple spotters out on the course, be prepared because SAG will not be provided. We will ensure all the riders are accounted for and if you turn up MIA, we'll send out the search party. Timing
Splits and results will be available immediately. Timing will be to the nearest 1/100 of a second and average speed (mph) will be calculated. Complete results will also be posted to the website within 48 hours of event close. Registration (IMPORTANT)
Online registration is required for the May session. Participation will be limited to 35 cyclists and the cost is $10 for Southern Indiana Triathlon Team Members and $15 for non-members. The June, July, August, and September sessions will be capped at 50 to 60 riders (to be determined) and same day registration will be available ONLY IF remaining slots are still open. Same day registration opens at 5pm and closes promptly at 6pm on race day. The registration/check in table will be located next to Duffy's in front of the starting line. Please note that we highly encourage you to pre-register on the website as this will ensure you a slot. We can only accept a limited number of entries due to time constraints and we do not wish to turn anybody away at the event. If you plan to wait until race day to register, be sure to check the website first to ensure there are remaining slots available. Of course that does not eliminate the possibility that the event could fill before you arrive. Hence - we strongly encourage you to register for the event online. Time Slots
Within 48 hours of your event, you will receive an email notifying you of your time slot plus any additional "last-minute" information deemed necessary. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your assigned "start time" so we can check you in and affix your number. Rules
Remember this is not a closed course. There will be vehicles out on the roads so excercise due judgement. We will do our best to get you through the turns quickly but be prepared to yield if a motorist does not give way. Try to remain to the "right of the lane" to allow motorists to pass easily. DRAFTING, always maintain at least a 4 bike length separation between you and the person in front. Passes must be made promptly and if you are being passed, you must give way if the passing rider's front axle breaks the plane of your front axle. Please treat your fellow racers, motorists, and the local residents with dignity and respect. We are guests in Hatfield and hope to be welcome there for years to come. And Finally - RIDE HARD and HAVE FUN! Awards
Awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female riders at each session. Additionally, the top 3 course times will be posted to the "Leader Board" on the website along with photos of the course record-holders. Complete results will also be published to the website within 48 hours of the event. Please note that there will be no distinction between time-trial bikes and roadies whereas the awards are concerned. However, your bike "classification" will be notated on the official results page for comparison purposes. In addition to the overall results page, we will also publish a "results by classification" page. As the event grows we may decide to provide additional awards based on bike classification. Refreshments
Drinks and refreshments will be provided at the event. Additionally, Hatfield Market and Diner is right across the street from the finish/start line if you desire something cooked. In fact, the Monday lunch/dinner special is 2 hamburgers for 3.69. If you have any additional questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
