One of the newest attractions on HHI and outside our Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra offices here at SoundWavesHHI is the Poetry Trail, a major collaboration between Natalie Harvey, director of the Town of Hilton Head Island Office of Cultural Affairs, and many local arts constituents.

“Ladies of Gullah: Roles and Resilience” is such a fitting season finale for our inaugural Gullah Cultural Series here at Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra in partnership with Gullah Museum of Hilton Head Island, Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park, and artistic advisor, Lavon Lavon C. Stevens.

Tonight we feature Marlena Smalls, Louise Cohen, Rose Jackson-Knighton, and Chef Sherri Whitmire.

A fixture in the early to mid-twentieth century Broadway and film musical scenes, Cole Porter’s witty lyrics and catchy melodies have captivated generations. Enjoy a trip through some of Porter’s greatest hits including Anything Goes, Night and Day, I Get a Kick Out of You, Just One of Those Things, Too Darn Hot, and I've Got You Under My Skin.
