The best part of having a 3d printer......
Wanted to angle the controller on the CO2 laser. Took some measurements of the controller, the opening of the laser's cabinet, and here we are.
Created the model and even added a removable backplate with latches.
We'll see tomorrow if my measurements were accurate! š

Coworker asked if a 3d print could be made of their emblem to cold brand a horse they were selling as a joke to the buyer. They sent the image and here is the final result. Came out fairly well if I do say so myself.
Printed with ABS.

Probably going to be a little bit of trial and error, but here goes the next prop build! 33.7 inches. M1928A1 Thompson Submachine Gun.
All foam, and here we go........

While I thoroughly enjoy making Mandalas and all kinds of other things with our other site Mandala Art by Coreguard Creations, I will always have an absolute love of creating something with EVA foam.
Now, this is still a commissioned item, so I can't give too much away, but stay tuned, this piece is going to be awesome when done!

Kind of a bittersweet moment here. The ODST armor is boxed up and will be shipping to her new owner in the morning.
I tried, failed, tried again, and failed so many times building this armor set, but in the end, the skills learned and mastered were worth it.
She won me "Best in Show" at her debut Con and was a hit with everyone who ever saw me in it.
Now she is moving on to her next con and I am sure her new owner is going to have an absolute blast wearing the armor.
While I am somewhat saddened to see her go, I look forward to seeing pictures as her cosplay journey continues.

Friend of mine and a former coworker made the entire set up. Hat, bracers, belts, etc. He just decided to pick up leather working and this is what he pulls off? Cool as s**t!!!
My Cousin's house. This is absolutely amazing! Going to have to take a trip over there one weekend to see how this all works behind the scenes!

5 years ago, I was in search of an outlet for something to do in the evenings after work. Sitting in a recliner and watching TV just wasn't appealing to me.
It started with some simple patterns, a utility knife, and a hot glue gun.
The act of "creating" something from nothing consumed me. To take a pattern, an idea, or even a fleeting thought and make it a reality resonated in me.
From foam armor, to Mardi Gras props, 3d printing, laser engraving, and whatever my mind conjurs up, I have built up an aresnal of various tools to make whatever I come up with a reality.
I have won a few awards and failed more times than I succeeded, but in each failure, there is a lesson learned.
This is why my motto is: "No Idea is Off Limits"

Still have a good bit of work to do on the diorama as far as paint and detailing, but it is coming along nicely.

A short little walk around video of the ODST armor from Halloween. The strobes definitely got everyone's attention. Went with blue as the entire build was titled "Back the Blue" build and seemed appropriate.

Visibility is key when trick or treating and naturally, the kids loved it!

Sneak peek: Really pushed the envelope on this build when it came to smoothing out the mod podge. Next up will be some various colors of metal anodizing coating to round it out.
Still fascinates me how you can manipulate 5mm foam from Hobby Lobby to looking this.
Stay tuned for the completion of this project.

So who knew that the chemical reaction between black tea and iron infused vinegar would give burlap a darker "aged" look. Another tool in the toolbox of creation for a project in the works!

Little foam work for a project.

Time lapse of me adding a wood grain effect on the foam viking shield using a wood burning iron. The main lines are done and that tip will be replaced with a finer tip for more detail work. Once done and the foam is sealed, various shades of browns and blacks with be used to create the color of wood. Still quite a bit to do to complete, but the most tedious part is almost done!

Little trial and error using a mirror.

Sometimes, you just have to improvise, adapt, and overcome.......or just make your own sanding blocks. š

Little laser work for some good friends and their skin care business. Thin Blue Line butters, balms, & soaps.
Better than anything I made in the past! If you're in the market, you can't go wrong with any one of their products.

Proud husband moment. Sheila's first mandala. She picked the mandala, the colors, the frame, etc. She did the sizing, the cutting, the layering. All I did was stack and glue the layers.
Came out awesome!

The Mrs. getting in to some Mandala creation practice using the Cricut & Snapmaker A350.

Scales and more scales. Laser cut individually out of 2mm foam, mounted, and now getting a texture coating before paint. These will be used to cover the white part on Sheila's battle mace build.
Plan to debut her finished build at Louisiana Comic Convention 2021!
158 days to go!!!!
I swear I'll never do another build with scales.š¤¦āāļø

Now that my ODST is done, it's time to kick off a build for the wife. No patterns, no character to reference, just straight out of my vision for her build. Stay tuned, it's going to be epic!

Something new with the Snapmaker. A 3d printed lithopane. Well this opens up a whole new level of things to make now!

Preface: It is kind of difficult to define exactly what Coreguard Creations is. A part cosplay, a part menās beard grooming, and even a little bit of T-shirt making. So in a sense, emphasis should be placed more on the latter than the former of the title. Corguard Creations represents the art of creating things. To take an idea from thought or concept and to create it. This is why our motto is āNo idea is off limitsā. If we can think it, see it in our mind, then we can create it.
My actually journey into this realm began shortly after Halloween in 2017. My wife had spent quite a bit on our childrenās costumes and I figured I could build something much better for the same cost. After a couple of weeks of searching various forums, I landed on a HALO video game inspired website page. After reading quite a few forums on techniques, I took the plunge and bought a few basic supplies. The first few attempts were dismal, but I kept trying and each piece that was formed got better.
I had originally named the page āCoreguard Armor & Props, but once I started to master the techniques, I started to realize that in addition to the costumes, anything I wanted to build was only limited by my imagination. That led to building an Adirondack chair out of popsicle sticks and creating a ābeach in a bowlā for my mother, to Captain America shields for my wifeās Mardi Gras crew. Since then, I have built a full HALO 3 ODST armor set for myself where I won best in show at a local comic-con, a wearable gingerbread house w/ LEDās for my wifeās float captain, to even helping out people who message me looking for advice or inquiring how I did something.
I continued to take all that I have learned and continue to push myself out of my comfort zone to learn new techniques, try new products, and continue to get better. No idea is ever off limits, it is just figuring out how to get something from concept to reality.
At the beginning of 2020, I delved into making my own beard balm and my good friend and coworker took my emblem and added a beard to it. Fast forward a few months later and her and I took Coreguard Creations from a simple page to a fully functional business selling beard balm. Her hobby centered around making shirts and we combined forces to see where the beard balm / shirt combo would take us while at the same time, staying true to our beliefs that āno idea was off limitsā.
In the end, Coreguard Creations was initially created (pun intended) as a sort of online storage and showcase for my work, but it has since morphed into more than just that. It is a place where creations are made!
