More Ant-house plants (or Myrmephytum selebicum) in store 🐜

Did ya know- They’re native to the warm tropics of Indonesia and epiphytic in nature- meaning they grow on trees! Their base, or caudex, is hollow and form a symbiotic relationship with ants. Ant plants provide habitats for ant colonies high up into the forest canopy, protecting them from the elements and predators. Hollow, smooth-walled tunnels form within the caudex with external entrance holes.

On mature plants, small, white star-shaped flowers bloom and often self to produce bright orange fruits 🍊⭐️

Caladiums are a stunning indoor plant option with its vibrant colorations. They like warm consistent temperatures and generally get watered once a week after the soil dries. These plants do experience winter dormancy and will grown new stems in the spring.
