Say hello to the delicious Sri Lankan Lump rice from Sanjee’s😋
Lamprais, commonly known as lump rice, is a Dutch Burgher-influenced dish, that is very popular in Sri Lanka. From 1640 until 1796, Sri Lanka was under Dutch rule. Lamprais is derived from the Dutch word “lomprijst”, which loosely translated means a packet of food.
Lamprais is served on a banana leaf and contains a bed of rice choice of meat, eggplant moju, seeni sambol, boiled egg, cutlet and ash plantains.

Fish rolls are a variety of deep-fried appetizer served in Sri Lankan restaurants. It is a cylindrical, savory roll with chopped potatoes, fish, and other fillings( mainly onion, garlic, pepper, salt and curry leaves) inside a thickly-wrapped in flour skin, which is fried in hot oil. It is also very similar to Chinese egg rolls.
