Didn’t get to run sound for anyone at the Pigeon Forge Bluegrass Festival this weekend but got to see some great sound engineers in action! Elijah Doty for Joe Mullins and also Michael Cleveland. Kevin McKinnon for Authentic Unlimited. Nick Goad was running for Lonesome River. These guys did an excellent job!

7 years ago. At the Earl Scruggs Center in Shelby NC. It was a book release about Earl Scruggs. Website said bring your instrument and there would be a jam. I didn’t know what I was getting into! I played the most simple break I could just to get through it 😂 Probably my biggest experience as a picker 🙂

A violinist played 45 minutes on the New York subway. 4 people stopped and one clapped, managed to raise 20 dollars.

The following night the same violinist played in one of the most recognized stages in the world and charged a minimum of $100 per entry.

The experiment proved that the extraordinary in an ordinary environment does not shine, it is not recognized.

There are brilliant professionals who don't receive a reward according to their potential, once they arm themselves with value and leave this kind of environment they thrive and grow.

When a person is not in the right atmosphere people will be able to walk by their side and not see how exceptional they are, just please make sure you are where you should be!

New Primitive

Had a great time with The New Primitive today at Rumbling Bald at Lake Lure NC. These guys are great!

New Dixie Storm modified!

This was New Dixie Storm minus Scott Hawkins add Patton Wages and Steven Hudson from a couple years ago at a little church event. It was a lot of fun running for these guys!

Appalachian Road Show! I provided sound for this festival a few months ago. These guys are amazing! If you haven't seen them in person, you are missing out!
