ICreate Poetry Contest

iCreate is a Jan/Feb poetry contest culminating in a multimedia main event. 2014 Main Event date is Wednesday, March 4th, 6:30p at Michigan Theatre.

We are pleased to announce the return of iCreate! For the fourth year in a row students are participating in the iCreate poetry contest. This year’s contest will be for students in grades 3-8. Students will be writing poetry based on themes of “perseverance," “courage,” "hope" or "peace" in the months of January and February. The entire contest will culminate in a multimedia event at Michigan Thea

ter where many prizes will be given including gift certificates, art scholarships, t-shirts, etc. Many winners will have their winning poems turned into songs by professional musicians who will perform the songs the night of the event on March 5th, 6:30p. Also, in 2014 we have a special winning category for Spoken Word. Students will have an opportunity to have their winning poem performed by a professional Spoken Word artist.
