Shrimp Bienville-Amazing, the butter sauce caused us to order the French Bread.
Roasted Beet-Elevated with the whipped feta with the citrus bite from oranges
Pan-Fried LA Crab Cake

The entrees ordered were…
Land, Gulf and Grits
BBQ Oysters-Sweet & Spicy but the blue cheese gave the oyster a creamy flavor but it didn’t overtake.

Philly Cheesesteak for dinner! Thank you for the shaved ribeye! This is the first meal I cooked since my surgery in January, that was fun! Back on sabbatical! I used sub rolls to finish it off.

Recap Day 2 of the ACF National Convention. Today we had our opening session with our National President @chefkimberlybrockbrown, giving her president's report and awards. We listened to @chefjustinsutherland share his culinary story and influence on cooking style. He demonstrated a -#Sukiyaki which has a flavorful broth. The educational workshops were shown excellently. Chef @michaelgulotta taught about crossing Southeast Asia Cooking and Louisiana-style cooking and blending them. He made some pasta from scratch using farmer's cheese which made the pasta like gnocchi. I learned about the technique for Dry Aging Steaks up to 240 days with @chefgerald_ . I met @chefjohnfolse and tried the Holy Trinity of Lousiana Cooking of Gumbo, Étouffée, and Jambalaya. We ended the day at #merilsrestaurantnola for late dinner sharing a few of their snacks, Fried Turkey Necks, Deviled Eggs, Pineapple Upside Down Cornbread, Spaghetti & Rock Shrimp with Salumi, and @emerils famous Banana Cream Pie.
