I am not currently hosting parties but we are currently in our volunteer era! Come on out to this y’all! If you have a child with special needs or what I like to say super hero abilities Pippy would love to meet you!

A Day To Remember is THIS SATURDAY, April 13th from 2:00-4:00 PM! This event is designed to serve kids and students with special needs with an incredible special day! This is a carnival style event with a variety of fun activities. We will hand out t-shirts, have carnival games, a petting zoo, inflatables, face painting, snacks, and so much more!

This is my daughter crying and hugging her pony. You see she worked a pattern with him over 30 times to qualify for a liberty show. She failed 29 times and try 30 she got it! It’s year end award time at school! Great job to each and every child with their own try! Cheers to the child with all grade c because it was hard and they studied and worked hard for that c! Cheers to the child that talked too much in class but didn’t have a mean word to say to anyone. Cheers to the child that couldn’t sit still at all but could go home and work chores on the farm. Cheers to the child that just showed up because at home there was no parental guidance or food in the house. I hope you all reward your child for character. They are more than grades and blue ribbons. Focus on character qualities and that will sustain them. Grades and blue ribbons are temporary! Oh and my daughter qualified for the show! Drove to Lexington and she came in last. She didn’t quit! We focused on her work ethic and try! Wait until this year!

Todays featured family member is Half Pint! This is my daughters large pony and the pony most older kids will ride. He is blind in his left eye. His best friend is my horse Kirk. He likes to say yes by nodding his head because he knows he will get a treat! He also knows how to bow and do a few other tricks!

I apologize if someone has messaged about the camp. Apparently my messenger has not been working correctly! I have two slots available for june 8 day camp and I’ve also booked quite a few private camps meaning one parent organizes a group of six kids and books with me! Please let me know if you have a kiddo interested in the June 8 camp or if you have a group! If you aren’t interested in a party or a camp I also host various clubs and Pippy play dates for up to three kids where they get to feed and play with all the animals, dress up Pippy, ride, and enjoy our farm in a more intimate setting!

Hey everyone! I wanted to introduce myself!! This will be the last time you see me with makeup because at camps I’m typically in mud boots and a ponytail! Here is my herd! I began my small business about seven years ago when I became a stay at home mom. I adore children, nature, and animals so I thought about how I could bring my love for these things together and yeehaw! Here we are! I have a masters degree in special education and love teaching children about love, inclusion, kindness, leadership, and work ethic by using our animals as an example. I enjoy teaching children about attunement with animals along with ensuring they feel heard and seen as well. I am passionate about horsemanship and twice a year I’m fortunate enough to still pursue my dreams and show in Lexington Kentucky for the international liberty horse association! I have met the BEST people through this small business and I’m just so grateful!

Today I’m going to highlight our pair of brothers from another mother! This is Fudge and S’mores! These two are always together and love love open doors! If a door is open they will run through! They also love to play goat tag which your children will experience if they come to camp! Fudge is our extrovert. He is always the first to run up to you in what seems to be a panic. I believe he thinks every moment in his life is a crisis and he will run up to you and yell loudly. He will also do this at the crackle of a bag or the smell of a graham cracker. S’mores is his rock. He is steady and chill! Both of these boys have also had a career in goat yoga but these days they prefer goat tag with kids! We have owned them for about five or six years! They drive me crazy but in a good way!

Meet another family member of our farm! This is Squeala. She used to live in our home. When we were given Squeala we didn’t know she was pregnant and surprised us with some piggy big news! She had ten piglets a few months later. Her favorite activities are eating snacks! She has been known to go on jogs with me. She loves standing by Kirk her favorite horse while he is being brushed so she will get brushed as well. She enjoys pitchfork scratches as well. She has many different vocal tones that communicate if she wants food or attention or if she is scared. Squeala is the boss of Jack Jack and he will run out of the barn when she walks in. When it’s cold outside she will make a bed out of hay and bury herself in her blanket. In the summer she enjoys a good dip in the kiddie pool! Bingo our cat has also been known a time or two to hitch a ride!

I will be setting dates for farm day camps soon! If you have your own group of six kids you can message me as well! Day camps will be $45 per child. Each day I’m going to highlight one of our animals here at the farm! So today meet Jack Jack! This is our miniature donkey! His favorite thing to do is to get butt scratches and ear scratches. He is probably the most affectionate animal on the farm!

One of our students, Rose Lawson, is hosting "A Day To Remember: A Carnival to Celebrate Special Needs" that will be taking place on our campus here at Poplar Ridge from 2-4 PM. This event is for young kids or teens with special needs and their families! 😀

We will hand out t-shirts, a photo booth, have carnival games, a petting zoo, inflatables, face painting, snacks, Kona Ice will be there, a firetruck, police car, dunk tank, etc. There's going to be so much fun!

I am considering leasing Pippy out for the summer to two families. I would be very picky to who we choose. This would be an opportunity for a child to “own” their own horse and enjoy the farm life without the maintenance and caring for it. I would have guidelines for how he is handled and cared for. Please pm me for price and additional information if interested! It isn’t cheap as care and maintenance for horses aren’t cheap. This would be an on site lease.

I would like to offer a free program for children that may need some extra help in reading. If you have a child that is shy or has difficulties reading in front of others they can come out to our new farm and read to our animals! This way it can help build confidence in reading to a soul that is non judgmental and a good listener. We are located in kingsport. We will
Have pippy in our outdoor riding arena and you and your child can bring your own chairs and sit in the area and read to him. You will also be welcome to read to the goats, half pint the pony, Kirk the horse, bingo the cat, or Elsa the dog. The horses will be in their stalls. Please message me if you would like to bring your child out. I will not interrupt but would greet you and go through some ground rules. Message me if interested

Beautiful day for a pony party! I love introducing little ones to horses! On another note… who has the book the winky wonky donkey? Also, I’ve thought about opening our farm up for reading to the animals no charge. This would be for children who are shy or maybe have some difficulties with reading. Our animals at our farm do not judge and are wonderful listeners when they are in their stalls! Thoughts?

I am currently booking preschool age birthday parties. We are limited to parking space so 7 cars max but up to 15 children can attend. You just may need to carpool. We will only be using pippy for riding so typically ages 6 and under. If you would like to book a party please message me! Children will groom and decorate Pippy, play goat tag, love on captain Jack the donkey, ride pippy, and find candy in the haystack!! We are located in kingsport! $225 for a two hour party
