FEARLESS AT 5 YEARS! Wow… I don’t know how it gets better than this!

While that might not be entirely true (shutting the business down for Covid, 14-months after opening was the scariest of scares!), these past 5 years have truly been the best! To watch my vision come to life and see Nyanza grow is indescribable. And absolutely none of it would be possible without the people who support it. So, rather than reflect on the many achievements of this past year, I want to take this anniversary to say thank you.

Thank you to my brides. Thank you for trusting me in this process and with your bridal vision, and for allowing me to be a part of this special and exciting time. Your enthusiasm and passion for the shop has been unwavering; your care and compassion, immense; and your love and friendship, an honor.

Thank you to my designers and reps for continuing to believe in me. Your patience, support, advice and friendship has made it possible for me to chase my dreams at Nyanza and do what I love. There will never be enough words to express my gratitude.

Thank you to my seamstress, Julia. You are a true artist and magician, and the most talented craftsman I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Nyanza would not be what it is, without you.

And finally, an extra special thank you to all my friends, family and loved ones… and of course, beloved store mascot, Delta. Thank you for your unconditional love and unwavering support.

Glamorous, chic and utterly exclusive, Kirkland-based Nyanza Bridal is the new go-to bridal boutique for high-end wedding couture and gowns. Ashley Child, who has more than 10 years of experience in the bridal retail industry, opened the boutique, naming it after Nyanza Road in Lakewood, Washington, where her parents wed 36 years ago in her grandparents’ backyard. “If you had asked me five years ago if I saw myself as a business owner, I would have said no,” Child says. “But I had the experience, the reputation, the relationships in the industry and an incredible support group—I knew I was the right person to do it.” Nyanza Bridal is proud to present a curated collection of luxury gowns from internationally renowned wedding dress designers. It has the largest selection of Vera Wang gowns in Washington, and is one of the state’s only stockists for Anne Barge, Galia Lahav, Lela Rose, Reem Acra, Savannah Miller and Romona Keveža. “Nyanza is not your typical bridal salon. But that’s because we don’t believe there is a ‘typical’ bride anymore,” says Child. “We simply believe that all women are entitled to the highest-quality service, and we are dedicated to providing brides with a once-in-a-lifetime, expertly curated and luxurious shopping experience.”
