The Proper Setting was created in 2005 by Nannette Kallestad to fill the event planning needs of an increasing number of couples coming to the Outer Banks to get married.  In 2009, Nannette met Kerri at Whalehead and a new future began in which The Proper Setting helped plan events, manage venues, consult with new event home builders and meet the needs of couples from all over the world.  Nannette left the OBX in 2013; Kerri stayed and focused on full service and all-event-week planning.  Now, in 2023, The Proper Setting is evolving once more to help ALL couples make their dreams come true no matter where in the world they are saying “I Do.”  Meet the team:  Kerri, Angelique and Danielle.  We can't wait to find The Proper Setting for you!
