Hello everyone,

Typically we don't share very personal things on this page. But as tomorrow is officially THE DAY, of our public hearing, we want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has worked so incredibly hard to support us. You truly don't know what the outpouring of support has meant to our family and to this community we are striving to serve. We are just one family - or really just one guy with a vision dragging his family along for the ride - with a heartfelt mission of bringing something great to Oldham County. It has been one thing to witness the unwavering support of our family, but another thing entirely to carry the support of absolute strangers through this journey -- to get to know each and every one of you and make lifelong friends in the process. We are so deeply humbled to have shared this experience with some truly great and wonderful people, and I pray to God that tomorrow we will do you all proud and finally bring this dream to life. We will never forget our friends. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow and please come to cheer us on at the public hearing TOMORROW MORNING at 9AM at the OLDHAM COUNTY FISCAL COURTHOUSE in LA GRANGE.

Haysattshoots calling the shots!

Did you know that according to data from the NSSF, at least 6 MILLION women participate in target shooting alone?
While these numbers are impressive, they might not shock fellow female firearm enthusiasts. Which is why we should be telling everyone, even anti-gunners, how many women find fitness, passion and mental health in shooting. This is a positive that needs more attention!

Shooting sports participation in 2020 saw at least 15.1 million more participants than golf. The shooting sports are also bigger than the number of Americans who camp (48 million in 2020). These statistics not only prove that participating in shooting sports is not a fringe or uncommon pastime, it’s a well-loved and highly participated in activity!

By the numbers, a woman with a gun is more likely than one with a golf club, and I’d wager than she feels a lot more empowered too!

Studies suggest that children with impairing symptoms of attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) benefit from participating in target-shooting sport in local shooting associations.

Practicing target-shooting sport requires focused attention and motoric steadiness. Target-shooting sport may be regarded as mental training, where the participant uses breathing techniques to calm down and focus, and thereby improves attention. These techniques are somewhat similar to those used in meditation.
Clear guidelines and boundaries, which must be adhered to by all participants practicing and instructing target-shooting sports have several characteristics, which may be beneficial for children with ADHD. Target-shooting sports has per se elements, similar to elements in behavioral interventions often directed at children with ADHD or oppositional defiant disorder/conduct disorder. In addition, the sport has elements of mental training, which may contribute to reducing ADHD-symptoms, and comorbid symptoms, and participating in a sport without requiring additional help or guidance, compared to children without ADHD, may strengthen the child’s wellbeing and self-perceived quality of life.

Many children with ADHD experience difficulties in managing social relations, and are often excluded from participating in leisure activities with other children, e.g. team sports. This may have negative impacts on their wellbeing and quality of life, which depend on having friends and relationships with peers. Between 25% and 50% of those with childhood ADHD experience persisting symptoms and impairment in adulthood, and many develop psychological and social problems and are at risk of premature death. A growing focus on the benefits of sports activities, yoga, and mindfulness suggests that physical activity may have a positive impact on children and young people, also those with ADHD.

For many veterans, shooting sports help them get back to an active life and some even find it greatly therapeutic!

Rehabilitation and therapy through adaptive sports and recreation for wounded veterans have proven to be lifechanging for many vets who otherwise felt their lives were over.

John Pepe, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Gulf War, has been paralyzed for over 10 years because of a spinal cord infection. “Put in a chair, I thought life was over. Up until recently, I basically stayed home.”
But what changed, he said, is his involvement with the colonial chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America, a national nonprofit dedicated to advocacy for disabled vets, providing career services and training, and rehab and support through sports and recreation.
For Pepe, involvement in competitive trap shooting has served as therapy and stress relief, helping him cope and start enjoying life again. “You now feel like you’re a productive member of society and it gives you a little hope,” he says.

Calling all fellow sporting clay, trap, and s***t shooters. We are currently working to develop a premier sporting clay facility in Oldham County, Kentucky on our 370 acre property. Our facility will support professional shooters, competitions, high school scholastic shooting programs, as well as providing a permanent home for our youth 4H team. WE HAVE A DATE!

Thank you so much for your patience and continued support! We are incredibly excited to announce our hearing with the board of adjustments is set for August 18th. This week, we completed our filing with the office of planning and zoning.

Our team has gone above and beyond to provide all required documentation, as well as extensive engineering reports, traffic analyses, acoustics testing, environmental impact surveys, and securing in-person testimony from nationally renowned industry experts to speak in support of HGC at the hearing.

Please mark your calendars and come pack the courthouse THURSDAY, AUGUST 18th at 9:00 AM! Voice your support, meet our dedicated team members, ask us questions and share your ideas!
