I’ve really been into creating seating charts that are not only functional but beautiful, and that serve as a WOW moment.

This seating chart mirrored our stationery design (check out an earlier post) and was inspired by a piece of marble that had the quote “There is gold in every piece of your story” (scroll to the last photo to see inspo pic). We made it our own but wanted something elevated and logistically do-able for an event. This seating chart was designed to look like a giant slab of marble, paired with the couples custom monogram in gold acrylic, gave every guest a WOW feeling when walking in.

Reception. Quiet Italian Luxury was what we were aiming for. Elegant. Sophisticated. Modern.

Initially, my bride was leaning more towards a black and white wedding but as we toured venues and decided on Aria, I really felt that gray just belonged in this space.

With much trust from my bride, we worked with different hues of gray and brought in some marble texture (found in many Italian homes) in the tables as well as in the stationery elements.

Complemented with gorgeous white and green florals, the space echoed all of my bride’s dreams for a modern Italian inspired wedding.

The wedding day stationery for S&D was designed to be modern, elevated and feel luxurious.

The invitation itself featured a modern brass marble pattern enveloped in vellum to add an overall softer feel.

The save the date, invite and menu all incorporated a blind embossed monogram elevating the entire suite and making it look and feel completely custom (which it was). Our bride loved it so much, she incorporated it on some cuff links gifted to the groom.

In addition, the couples’ names were also blind embossed on the actual invitation adding once again, another layer of elegance.

Black ribbon and liner and vintage stamps completed the look. Every detail was intentional and thought out.

Given the bride’s Italian roots, we added some fun Italian headings to our menu as well as to our stir sticks.

So many things come to mind with my S&D’s wedding which happen to be our season closer. Go out with a bang they say! And we did just that.

This ceremony brought our bride to tears - happy tears that is - when she first walked out to the space for these photos. We weren’t quite prepared for her reaction (hence why we don’t have a photo) but this ceremony did just that. The goal though out this wedding was to create an elevated yet intimate space that was sophisticated yet welcoming for S&D’s very select guest list.

This design answered all of my bride’s dreams of creating this garden like environment in a very urban setting. It took our breath away.

Taking a moment for this seating chart. This black on black beauty stood tall at 8 feet and was designed to be a statement - but not the over the top kind.

This piece was designed for L&J and their classy, modern and edgy affair (with subtle nuances of Jurassic Park).

The all black structure with black acrylic lettering was all that is modern and edgy and we tied in the marble textured boards to add that nod to the Mesozoic Era, where nothing but natural elements existed. And of course, our tropical greenery to tie in all the jungle vibes.

If you needed to be convinced to ditch the single colored dresses for your bridal party, let this be it.

We discussed textures, styles and colors and we absolutely love how these turned out! We mixed colors, textures and styles to create the perfect combo. They not only worked well with our palette but also with all the ladies’ skin tones.

Jess & Roberto’s invitation suite exuded all of the modern romance. With a little blind emboss sketch of their wedding venue at the bottom, we left the guests with the element of mystery and surprise.

I don’t even know where to start with these two. When I first met V&T, it was obvious that they were SO in love. I know everyone is in love when they are getting married but these two looked at each other with serious heart eyes (swipe all the way to the end to see proof)! So it was only fitting that we designed V&T the most romantic, modern fairytale wedding to truly represent their love for one another. Because it is like a real life fairytale.

It was SO hard to narrow it down to only 10 images because there were so many pretty details and did such an amazing job capturing it all. Here are a few of my faves.

It’s been a minute since I’ve popped on here to say hi, so let’s do it.
My name is Vanessa and I am the owner, lead planner & designer behind Blanc. A few things about me:

🖤I am fluent in English (obv!), French and Italian. I can also speak Spanish but very basic. I understand most of it though.
🖤I love coffee. I’m Italian and if you’ve ever been to Italy, you know that they drink coffee more times a day than anyone should. I limit myself to 3 a day 😬 but this is the way to my heart.
🖤 I am a mom to 2 beautiful girls, Vivienne and Harper and more recently, a fur baby, Scout (first time I’ve ever had a dog… crazy!). Fun fact: a past bride of mine helped me choose my dog’s name.
🖤I’ve travelled to over 25 different places around the world. The furthest being Auckland, NZ. I love to talk about my past travels so hit me up anytime about places to go, things to see etc. Collectively, between my husband and I, we’ve been to 72 different countries!
🖤I was a skydiver and had almost 100 jumps logged, however this is still very amateur in the skydiving world. Nonetheless, I miss it but I can see the correlation between that and wedding planning. Calculated risks always pay off. Do your research, do all the checks and ensure you go over your action plan in your head (multiple times) to ensure flawless ex*****on.
🖤I am a skier and my whole family is too. Our 7 year old and 4 year old can handle black diamonds, go off trail and take moguls like champs. I’m so proud of them (they are also way better than me).

This has been a long time coming. It's like when you FINALLY find the perfect pair of shoes that give you all the feels from the inside and out. Throughout the 7 years that I’ve run my business, I’ve learnt that you are constantly growing and evolving who you are as a business owner, designer and planner and I got to a point where I really started to understand who I was and what I can offer my clients.

Layouts according to room design, shape, size, guest experience and guest size. Let’s go.

This room is a circle so laying everything out square and linear would be working against the natural environment that the space eludes to. The second challenge, an intimate guest count. This room fit 100 people and we were 50. We went with a larger dance floor and placed it in a Diamond shape to allow us to line the sides of it with long tables at a diagonal, allowing the space to feel more adequately filled. The sides of the Diamond were met with round tables with a large floral arrangement, adhering to the room shape and adding much needed height to the space (and a wow factor).

Design spreads across many areas including layout, so make it spectacular 🤩
