A musical theatre audition and performance workshop, where students will work on their musical theatre performance and audition skills in a supportive and nurturing environment. Together with the teacher, they will also find the best audition cut (16 - 32 bars) of each song. The class will also gain a thorough understanding of the audition process and the specific protocol for a musical theatre au
dition. A live pianist will be provided as well to give students the unique opportunity of working with a live accompanist. If you have been itching to audition for a musical but do not know where to begin, or are a musical theatre performer who is easily thrown or nervous at auditions, or just simply want to sing then come join us Saturdays at noon at The Long Beach Playhouse. Anna Kate recently won OC Weekly's best actress award for her portrayal of Mary Bland in the musical Eating Raoul. She has performed for much of her life and finds great joy in encouraging others to explore the theatre arts. Andy, is a multi instrumentalist with a masters degree in music from Cal State Long Beach. He is a gifted accompanist, composer and arranger with an extensive performance background.
