2024 GSVC Finals
On the day of the finals concert I was allowed to pick anything I wanted. I went back and forth between three of my pieces. One I sang multiple times, one I sang once, and one I didn’t sing at all.
I even called my voice teacher in a panic, and she immediately texted me even though she was in a lesson. I narrowed it down to two. Even standing at the door with my accompanist I changed my mind between them back and forth, back and forth.
I closed my eyes, I prayed and thought about why I do what I do and my heart felt moved seconds before I stepped on stage to choose.
In her composer notes for Then, Here and Now Dr. Powell calls for her work to be used as light for people everywhere experiencing injustices. In all of the excitement of graduation season, competition season and life, in that moment to speak on two injustices that have had my focus, the Sudan and Haiti.
Thank you @mezzo_seiko for recording
A great way to relax before finals. Headed down to Long Beach today to attempt trail skating with my skate friend @minhningitis. We had boss ass time, fell in front of some people and I’m looking forward to the next one.
Good luck on finals! May the curve be ever in your favor.
I don’t post about my partner a lot because he’s a private person, whereas I am the complete opposite.
Regardless, he’s my hype man and I’m blessed to be able to share these moments during my progress.
So my dog is normally hella camera shy, like the moment you pull the phone out she will go hide somewhere.
But apparently the moment I ask my husband to take a video of my skating, she’s ready to be a star 🙄
It’s Titan Rec day!! The way that my household plays is with our athlete, River. She loves to run and romp in the park and park at birds. Here’s a clip of her chasing my husband. River is open to meeting new dog friends!
