Last week we talked about the ceremony “flow.”🔂

What is each part of a ceremony!? 💒

We are going to break each category down for you.

The first part is the Processional. It is the group of people who are walking down the aisle.
It usually lasts for 3-5 minutes 🕰 and the order is determined by what type of ceremony you are having.

Your wedding officiant 🤵🏼‍♀️ should know when they are going to walk down the aisle (if at all).

Weddings don’t have to be an over the top event.

This wedding was a beautiful and intimate backyard wedding. The affair was small with only close family members and friends.

When I tell you the love between this couple is powerful!!! They are the proof in the pudding that a wedding is whatever you want it to be.

Here is a little cheat sheet for couples, and other officiants to know what part goes where (although I always tell my couples there is no right or wrong way to have a ceremony).

If my opinion is asked, I find this is the best way to suggest things.

There are notaries who are certified by the county (in LA County there is 160 or so of us), who can produce you a confidential marriage license.

I was contacted by this amazing couple. They were going to go to the courthouse and contacted me because they realized they forgot to book the ceremony portion. I was able to meet them same day, and save them the hassle of going to the courthouse. I provided them with a marriage license and ceremony!!!

I suggested we meet at a beach or somewhere more special. They have “their place” they love to go hiking at. So we met here. Their beautiful family joined and this ceremony was truly special.

Planning a wedding can be stressful!

Here are a few tips and tricks for finding and booking a wedding officiant.

1. Talk to several officiants. You can tell who you click with and who you don’t. Don’t feel pressured to go with the first person you meet. Your ceremony is about how you feel. There is nothing like saying I do and being completely uncomfortable. That’s why we offer a free zoom call so we can meet and see one another’s faces before your big day!

2. Do you want a religious ceremony? How about non-religious? Do you and your significant other want to write your own vows or repeat after the officiant? What about a unity ceremony like a sand or candle lighting ceremony? These are all things you need to take into consideration and ask your officiant if they offer it. We offer a custom ceremony package where you can pick whatever ceremony you like for one flat fee!!

3. There’s a lot to think about when it comes to your wedding, but make sure you book your officiant at least 9 months in advance. Officiants dates start to fill up quickly and it can be so stressful finding someone last minute.

I had the privilege to plan and to do the florals (I was trying to be an overachiever on this one) for my client and sweet friend Elbony. Her wedding turned out better then I could have ever imagined. Every detail exceeded my expectations!
I made every floral piece from the bouquets to the floral arch. We picked out every detail together. The night was beautiful and we definitely created some beautiful memories to last forever.

She wanted simple elegance.
