Today we lost one of the most beautiful brides I have ever had the privilege of creating something for. I saw an article posted on Facebook about a couple, Jenn and Brian. They had to move their wedding date sooner because Jenn was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. The doctors didn't give her much time to live, so the couple had to act fast. The story touched my heart so much, I found a way to reach out to her. Usually I'm not the one pursuing brides, asking them to allow me to create something for them. I felt nervous and asked her in the email if she would like for me to make anything for her, free of charge. I sent a link to my Etsy shop to show her what I can do, explained how I just wanted her to have what any bride would want on her big day. She was so excited, she said yes almost immediately in the beginning of her email response. I asked her what she would like for me to custom make, but Jenn didn't have anything real specific except she wanted purple. Jenn was feeling so grateful, she didn't care what shade of purple, just as long as it was purple. I insisted to give her the exact color she wanted. So off to work I went. Still nervous she wouldn't like anything I had, I created about 5-6 pieces for her to choose from. A few days later, I showed up to her house, and all I can remember was how bright her smile was as soon as she opened the door. She gave me a hug and made me feel like we've known each other all along when it was only the very first time we met. She showed me her beautiful wedding dress to see what I thought would go nicely with what I made. I was still so nervous that she wouldn't like what I created, I slowly unraveled each piece from tissue paper I used to protect them. As soon as they were laid out, she had the biggest smile. She expressed how she loved them all and hesitated to tell me she wanted to keep all of them. Speechless, I was very happy to let her keep each piece. After her wedding day, she couldn't stop thanking me enough. We became Facebook friends, she sent me photos of her wedding to show me her appreciation and gratitude with everyone who pulled together to make a beautiful day for her and her new husband. It's been 4 years since and she leaves behind two beautiful children, a son and daughter, and her husband Brian. What inspired me so much about her was her infectious smile. She never stopped smiling in her photos. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.
