Set The Versifier is a Award winning Spoken Word artist and Author from Inglewood. He has won multiple spoken word competitions as well as coached spoken word teams at the college level. He is a regular in the LA poetry circuit and you can catch him performing anywhere from Long Beach to Hollywood to the IE. His published book is called HER, Heavens Epitome Realized, It’s an Ode To Black Women. His goal is to spread his gospel of blackness in hopes of inspiring love to his people and community.

Since relocating to The City of Angels, VRDUOSO has been restless in their quest to explore the open mic night life. the lifeblood of LA’s music scene. The duo earnestly embraces the city’s culture, gaining perspective on their influence as artists by performing at some of LA’s well known venues, including Word Play Weekend (WPW) in Leimert Park where well known comedians Hannibal Buress & Ron G were featured guests.

At its core, VRDUOSO exists to ignite people to explore different forms of artistic expression. Strongly influenced by gospel, R&B, jazz, funk, and soul music genres, the band’s repertoire is a mix of intricate musicality with a playful but introspective sound, intended to guide listeners on their journey to realizing their true influence as artists!

Aamar Blair is a talented artist and creative visionary from the east side of Detroit, Michigan.  Aamar graduated from Central State University in Wilberforce, OH in 2014 with an accounting degree. After graduation he moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California for Graduate School and to pursue a career in entertainment. 

Aamar wears many hats as the owner of RVYPowered.Productions, the C.E.O. of RVY Entertainment and an Individual creative. He leads the RVY platform with a live showcase called Word Play Weekend that was started in 2017 and continues as a staple among creatives in Los Angeles. 

Aamar is also an aspiring film maker, growing actor and dedicated entrepreneur who challenges himself everyday to inspire change in the world around him.

Soul Stuf is a second generation, Filipino American spoken word poet who has been taking the LA scene by storm! Born and raised in Upstate New York, he moved out to Cali in 2014 and spent his first three years continuing to hone his craft in improv, hip-hop, and theater before finally stepping onto the stage as a full-fledged spoken word performer. Over the last five years, Soul Stuf has performed with dozens of organizations from coast to coast, from San Francisco to Las Vegas to Boston to even Trinidad and Tobago! He’s featured with All Def Digital, Poetry Versus Hip-Hop,  Sofar Sounds, and now he’s excited to bring that same fire to Wordplay Weekend and Art Share LA!

Jeff Horste is a comedian from Detroit Michigan. Jeff showcased his comedic talents twice on Comedy Central shows produced by Kevin Hart. Once with his appearance on “Hart Of The City” and again in his half hour special, “The Next Level”. He’s appeared on “Laughs” on both Hulu and Fox and performs at top comedy clubs and venues across the country. He has performed in Atlanta’s Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, the Boston Comedy Festival, Limestone, and the Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival.

Jil Chrissie is a well known standup in the city of Los Angeles and has been on some of LA's top live comedy shows. In 2018 she wrote and performed a successful one woman show called "Comedy Hoe," which is a blend of standup, fictional storytelling and poetry. "Comedy Hoe'' was Featured at the Black Women in Comedy Festival in NYC in 2019 before landing at the Hollywood Fringe Festival which is where she won an "Encore Producers" award for her performances and executive producing. In February of this year she wrote, performed and produced a short for Hulu's "Your Attention Please" hosted by Craig Robinson.
