THANK YOU Luray Downtown Initiative Inc!! We appreciate your support in helping us put our best face forward! We are proud and excited to be part of the downtown community and Town of Luray (Official).

ZoraJane is named after our moms, who prepared our first meals, planned our first parties and created our first memories. They were the first to believe in us and we're honored to open their namesake in our hometown.

We can't wait to welcome our friends and neighbors to ZoraJane and hope it will be the perfect place to host your special moments and memories!

Watch this page for updates. While we don't yet have an opening date and aren't taking bookings, it definitely won't be as long as it has been. πŸ˜‰

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations ZoraJane on being the recipient of our most recent Facade Grant!

And did I mention that he cooks too?

A few more items got checked off the list in February and March. We're getting there😊

NOV 2023 - JAN 2024
Lighting, lighting, and more lighting! And Greg started planning the layout of the service bar. Lots of big thinking, not many pictures. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Thank you, Tom Thompson, for helping with trim details on all those columns. Barbie doesn't do table saws or scaffolds. 🀣

OCT 2024 - The old A&P Store got a new look for her exterior and the nearly 100 year old tin ceilings got some new lipstick as well. Mike Seal of Visionary Painters LLC does incredible work. He made our vision a reality and we couldn't love it more. πŸ’•

NO. MORE. EXTENSION. CORDS.

After almost exactly 3 years of using power from Virginia Gift Shop next door for our renovation, we finally got to unplug on September 26th!

Greg let me have the honor as he snapped the ceremonial unplugging-of-the-cord photo!

AUG/SEPT 2023 - Insulation and drywall! Reusing some of the original tin crown in the hallway. It's just too pretty not to use somewhere. Getting ready for paint and looking at flooring options.

We (and by "we", I mean Greg) used about 50 bales of insulation -- He insulated EVERYTHING that could be insulated. LOL
Also, huge thanks Glen Mabe and his drywall crew for closing up the walls for us! Great work and really quick!

JULY 2023 - It's starting to get real now! Rough in electrical, cabling for internet/security and sound, and got the HVAC units set. And look at that panel box, would ya? We've been waiting for her. LOL

We've been working with some REALLY GREAT people. Can't say enough about these guys!

MAY/JUNE 2023 -- The rear of the building needed more than a little love. BIG shout out to Daniel and crew with DTS Construction and Johnny Shenk for their awesome work in the repair and remodel of our new back entrance. It's not finished yet but man, it looks SO MUCH BETTER! We plan to have an outdoor space for small gatherings as well. Maybe a little food, maybe a little music???

JAN - APRIL 2023 Yes, he's still working, God bless him! Finished up the framing and then we spent some "quality time" figuring out the build out for the front room. And after taking out 13,000 pounds of concrete (by hand in 5 gallon buckets) fresh concrete went down after the plumbing was finished. But Greg's favorite part of the project so far is probably the roll down door. When it got installed in March, he said, "now I can say that at least 1% of this is actually finished". LOL And in case you're wondering, the roll down door separates the cold kitchen from the hot kitchen. More on that later, so stay tuned.......

NOV/DEC 2022 - Renovations were put on hold in late April due to the unexpected deaths in the family and a whirlwind move to a new address for Barbie and Greg. But after almost 7 months, it was time for the mechanical permit and the work continued with plumbing and HVAC.

MARCH/APRIL 2022 - The hydraulic lift that was leftover from the building's past as an appliance store had to go; it was taking up much of the floor space in the new hot kitchen. And yep, Greg cut it out one chunk at a time. (it was a horrendous sound and awful to watch) but he saved us a lot money by doing it himself. He burned up three tools; but then he sold the metal for scrap, and replaced all three. πŸ™ƒTo say he was glad to finally get back to framing walls in April is an understatement. 😜

JULY - DEC 2021 Saved the "fun" demo for last -- finally getting to tearing out the old bathroom and started cutting up concrete for new plumbing just before Xmas. God bless Alex Wilson for moving multiple tons of concrete and then rocks and dirt by hand in 5 gallon buckets!πŸ‘·
