This is a plea for all who can contribute their time to do a yard cleanup day Monday, April 17 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. We will clean up flower beds and sidewalks, mow and w**d eat. Please bring small shovels, rakes, gloves, water, etc.
If you are unable to give of your time, perhaps consider making a donation to go towards paying for the heavier yard work that will be needed.

"Telling the Bees" is a beekeeping tradition we've written about in the Almanac. As members of the family, bees were told about major events such as births and deaths; the hives were even covered with a black cloak for mourning. With the queen of England’s death, someone has to now tell her bees that she won’t be back. Have you ever heard of this endearing folklore?
